AddressJob Purpose:
The incumbent will be part of the Legal-Tax team and will provide legal support on all direct and indirect
tax related matters including on Goods and services tax related matters/cases.
Key Responsibilities:
The Incumbent will be required:
- to partner with and support the tax lawyers; advisors & business on the tax related matters more
specifically on GST issues and matters of the Company.
- Overall ability to manage stakeholders (finance, account and tax teams) and work with law firms
and external counsels on various direct and indirect tax matters and issues (like GST).
- Ability to support and provide strategy in the Company’s direct and indirect tax matters more
specifically on GST matters and issues.
- Experienced in handling tax related matters/cases with the departments and in courts;
experienced in preparing and giving briefings to internal stakeholders and the external counsels.
- Advisory and transactional work involving tax issues/matters
- Maintenance of tracker on Tax and GST matters and cases.
- Risk assessment on tax matters (including GST).
- Negotiation with third parties with good drafting and communicating skills.

Education: LLB degree is a must. Candidate with LLM in Tax laws
Experience:
Should have 10 years plus of post-qualification experience as a tax/transactional/commercial lawyer in a reputable tax law firm (or in the big fours), or in-house experience with the legal department on tax and GST matters, preferably in a multinational company
● Should have expertise in handling tax related matters (GST, cess etc.) in making strategies on GST related issues and matters, handling of tax related disputes in various jurisdictions
● Sound legal knowledge and analytical approach to legal and tax issues (exposure to GST issues and matters )
● Strong communication and drafting skills and fluency in English (both written and oral).
● Able to work in the team
● Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
● Must be excellent in MS office and comfortable with new technology
● Work experience in a good tax law firm/or with a reputed GST Tax lawyer or big four firms on GST advisory and strategy matters (legal) will be required.
