The HR Manager shall provide practical, consistent, proactive support, direction and advice to associates and managers that are fully aligned with the company's strategic, financial and talent goals. This is a hands-on, solution-focused role that helps drive business results by ensuring our ability to attract, engage and develop the best talent in retail.
As the HR Manager for the WSGO India office, the job holder will support the SVP, Global Operations - India & Europe to develop people strategies and initiatives to best support our growth plans, whilst keeping alignment with regional and Corporate Talent initiatives and pillars.
He/she will work with the Regional HR Director in developing HR infrastructure required to support this organization, including but not limited to policies and procedures, record retention requirements, hiring practices, employee development and performance management.
He/she will need to drive employee engagement activities, and be aligned to our vision of People First. There will be one team member that will be reporting into this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Country-specific Labor Practices:
- Maintain and understand country-specific labor laws and labor practices
- Support company leadership in the development of a global organization, leveraging and optimizing this information to best execute the company's strategic initiatives
- Manage staffing processes and drive the recruitment and employer brand strategy
- Manage the HRIS system to ensure record keeping and HR confidential information are maintained. Embed and monitor measures to ensure operational excellence
- Utilise HRIS tracking tools to analyze staffing, retention, turnover, exit interview data and other information necessary to provide the insights for informed business decision
- Work with the regional finance team on people related budgeting and expense tracking, including payroll, benefits and other people costs
- Identify risk, ensure adherence with all applicable HR-related legal, regulatory and compliance requirements and recommend actions to protect the company.
- Adapt company policies and procedures including the Associate Handbook to reflect local legal and cultural requirements.
- Drive performance management process including goal-setting, performance appraisals and associate development planning.
- Work with the regional office on suitable learning and development tools and training, and be responsible for external technical training plan for associates
- Work with management to implement the succession planning process including talent profiles, successor plans and development action commitments
- Lead employee engagement initiatives and feedback channels, contributing to the building of a conducive work environment for associates to contribute and grow
- Consult with managers and associates on all aspects of associate-related issues including performance concerns, policies and procedures interpretation, misconduct investigations, terminations
- Degree in Human Resources or related field
- At least 10 years of progressive management experience as a HR generalist in an organization with a multi-country mode of operation
- Ability to stay current on statutory and labor market changes and trends
- Excellent organization and project management skills with the ability to work in a fast paced and collaborative environment
- Proven ability in change management
- Ability to act with integrity and confidentiality to resolve sensitive HR issues.
- Fluent verbal skills in English
- Strong writing ability and effective presentation skills
