Position Summary with Job Responsibilities
The role is responsible to drive the team to award portfolio of contracts in order to maximize value add from Logistics Services and achieve business objectives in a timely manner. It also needs to manage the allocated annual purchase value, achieve cost efficiencies, support demand fulfilment and build strategic logistics service provider (LSP) base.
Scope - Purchase of Outbound & Inbound Logistics, 3PL Warehousing management, Imports and Exports logistics, SPD Accessory Warehouse & Yard Management.
Defining sourcing strategy with all statutory compliance, delivery and cost reduction targets.
Nurturing and developing strategic LSP base.
Identify LSP's with long term engagement potential, create business plan, validation of LSP's and initiate selection process through sourcing council involving all the stake holders.
Plan for Strategic LSP base rationalisation.
Identifying and improving end to end logistics sourcing processes.
Awareness of Labour codes/CSM and their legal impact/Factory Act/GST etc.
Manage budgeting cycles. Review SOW, RFQ and SLA's for Logistics Service Contracts and adding value for strategic advantage. Review Logistics cost estimation for upcoming contracts. Evaluate contracts wrt Should Cost / Target cost and settlement within budget.
Recommend/approve SOB for LSP's as per organizations long term sourcing strategy.
Drive aggressive cost reduction.
Review and management of payment terms for better Cash flow management.
Process of LSP Assessment and Rating
Monitor and Review financial and operational health of the LSP's for long term sustainability.
Signing off robust Service Purchase Agreement.
Envisioning and supporting Digitization journey of Logistics Service Purchase and Operations Management.
Managing and improving Turn Around Time for contract settlements.
MIS for performance evaluation as per BSC and Goals
Adherence to TCOC guidelines and established audit processes
Manage team to keep their engagement high and provide necessary support.
Conduct IDP exercise and identify learning needs and partner with HR for fulfilment.
Conduct regular team reviews to keep track of their performance and to provide support as needed.
Ensure good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to acquire timely professional support to meet the delivery targets.
Education
Bachelor Equivalent - Engineering
Work Experience
10-15 years
Automobile Industry, Strategic Purchase Management.
Relevant experience in Logistics & Service Purchase Process
Experience of Should Costing / Zero Based Costing for Services & Logistics
Understanding & experience of Cost reduction levers
Should possess good negotiation and communication skills.
Knowledge of Macro and Microeconomics and Logistics Industry Dynamics.
