Deputy General Manager/General Manager - Truck Management
The Deputy General Manager / General Manager of Truck Management will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of truck operations, ensuring seamless transportation of goods to and from our facilities. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in trucking logistics, exceptional managerial skills, and a strong focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of the company's fleet of trucks, ensuring optimal performance, compliance with regulations, and adherence to safety standards.
Route Planning: Develop and implement strategic route plans to optimize delivery schedules, minimize transportation costs, and maximize resource utilization.
Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of trucking professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure operational excellence and adherence to company policies.
Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with trucking vendors and service providers, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to ensure service level agreements are met.
Cost Optimization: Analyze transportation costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and implement strategies to improve overall efficiency and profitability.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental regulations governing trucking operations.
Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the performance of trucking operations, track metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and optimize trucking operations.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions to trucking operations and ensure continuity of service.
Customer Relationship Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to understand their transportation needs, address concerns, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in trucking operations management, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of trucking regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate teams and drive results.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
