VP Operations (Printing)
- The role is with a global Printing Company with manufacturing facility in India.
- The VP Operations will report to the MD and shall lead the operations in India, with a purpose to exceed the internal and external customer requirements for delivery, cost, quality and sustainability, whilst being committed to highest standards on safety.
- The incumbent will be responsible for the full financial & operational performance of the plant, whilst continually improving employee engagement and productivity. In addition, he shall contribute to the engineering and innovation projects that are identified, validated, then selected from the company's continuously evolving growth strategy.
1. Achieve Operational/Financial Performance:
Review factory performance to ensure that all customer requirements including scheduled delivery, quality and cost requirements are met or exceeded:
- Supporting the channel leaders' commercial strategies from production via developing and implementing a production strategy, collaboratively & in line with Group's overall operational strategy;
- Increasing profitability by implementing targeted action plans,
- Improving productivity continuously with lean manufacturing techniques and building structure without compromising flexibility, quality and customer focus;
- Installing, maintaining and driving continuous improvement culture across all related production environments, with KPI results driven focus.
- Initiating and leading investment projects and product and process innovations within the direction of the production unit;
- Analysing and optimizing the cost structure and budget management in production; He is ultimately accountable for the cost centres assigned to him.
- Managing the balance between, on the one hand, the process-based, structured way of working and the high degree of perfection in the finished product and, on the other hand, the flexibility required in evolving market dynamics ie (in size, product, volume & lead times) and deploying a continuous innovative, entrepreneurial approach across the production environment;
- Striving for and maintaining perfection in the finished products and the zero margin of error in a complex "make to stock" / "make-to-order" consumer & customer-oriented environment.
- Manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets while controlling costs.
2. Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all employees by continuous development of safety policy with regard to production and associated manufacturing activities.
3. Quality Assurance:
- Establish and maintain quality standards for products and processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
4. Team Management & Engagement:
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the factory operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Build a positive working environment focussed on safety and productivity.
- Maintain the good relations with (potential) customers, suppliers and employee representatives.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS ATTRIBUTES:
- Engineering graduate in Printing technology with minimum 20 years of experience in manufacturing/ operations role with minimum 5 years as a plant P&L Head.
- Strong technical knowledge of printing and packaging process, equipment's and technology.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principals, Six sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven track record of leadership and achievement in optimizing factory operations, driving process improvement, operational excellence and achieving business results.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Knowledge of Health and safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing operations.
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis and cost management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross - functional teams in a fast pace dynamic environment.
The incumbent shall;
