Job Summary With a focus specifically on LEAP - SMaaS (Scrum Master as a Service), this role provides direction to scum masters supporting portfolios and product teams, ensuring that all scrum master activities are executed against defined best practices in the Scrum Master playbook while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in the service model to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency. This role works closely with agile coaches to drive agile maturity across the organization. Key Responsibilities
  • Manages a team of analysts at various levels (often in both US and India) by prioritizing the work, balancing capacity and demand, guiding the team in their work, managing the team's performance and providing professional development opportunities to build an agile workforce
  • Oversees and leads the execution of the functional team's roadmap while aligning to overall Technology Strategy
  • Manages team's work performance and provides professional development opportunities to build an agile workforce
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key cross-functional partners to support alignment and synergy of processes and procedures; provides coaching and guidance to analysts in support of these key relationships
  • Successfully manages conflict and trade-offs between stakeholders in a positive manner that drives continued engagement
  • Acts as a top-level specialist; provides coaching and roll-out support on complex issues
  • Provides actionable information to Technology Leadership
  • Creates and/or leads the creation of standard operating procedures and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
  • Leads the development, roll out and continuous improvement of processes and best practices
  • Develops team-level objectives and helps analysts with the planning of supporting project plans to deliver the key activities of the team
  • Plans and allocates work, identifying and securing needed resources, providing clear direction and managing performance of the team against established performance indicators
  • Provides insight, guidance, and recommendations to help the team resolve escalated issues that arise in any stage of the process(es) they support
  • Provides leadership to the team by attracting and hiring talented individuals, setting goals and communicating clear expectations, providing timely and constructive feedback as well as meaningful developmental opportunities, managing performance, providing resources and support as needed, and sponsoring and leading team members through change
  • Selects, hires and develops talent for growth opportunities (often in both the US and India) to support the team; monitors team/individual's morale and engagement to maintain highly effective and collaborative environments
  • Provides input for departmental budget and manages expenses associated with initiatives within scope of responsibility
LEAP Responsibilities
  • Design and develop overall SM as a service model to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency in executing SM responsibilities.
  • Define SOP(Standard Operating Procedures) including OKRs , process flow, working agreements of different personas, metrics and measurements, assessment framework for teams, SM and model, operating routines and cadences etc.
  • Operationalize SM as a service model in alignment with the OKRs defined for the service model while continuously seeking feedback and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Influence and guide the stakeholders on agile principles, practices, and frameworks to foster an environment of collaboration and empowerment to deliver high quality product and services more efficiently.
  • Change Management: Drive organizational change by promoting agile values, principles, and practices, work closely with leadership and stakeholders to ensure buy-in and support agile transformation initiatives. Raise any organizational impediments to continuous improvement to appropriate partners and stakeholders.
  • Accountable to ensure role-based performance objectives and expectations of scrum master role are understood by Sr/Scrum Masters
  • Clears impediments for individuals and team that they are unable to clear for themselves, escalating when necessary.
  • Supports Scrum Masters through servant leadership, leading by example.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10-12 yrs of experience
