Job Purpose
Specialist / Senior Specialist - Battery Electrical design will derive electrical requirements from vehicle specification and based on that develop wiring harness, select electrical, electromechanical components and validate those through testing. The incumbent needs to support vehicle integration and homologation activities internally / at a third party testing facility. The incumbent will also contribute to VAVE activities for cost of optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Create LV / HV architectural concepts or designs based on requirements.
Design, develop and release system specifications for HV & LV Battery Packs for automotive application.
Assess performance and functionality of HV / LV electrical components based on requirements.
Create 3D models and optimize wire, busbar routing using CREO CAD software.
Create & release of 2D manufacturing drawings, SLD, schematic, block diagrams and production documentation.
Perform DFMEA and develop DVP for validation of components & systems.
Provide input for finalizing mechanical joining technology for electrical components.
Weight Optimization through VA/VE and Benchmarking.
Work Experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering
Experience
3-6 years’ experience in a similar role including experience in the following areas:
- Understanding of electro-mechanical components, Connector Pinouts etc.
- Knowledge in designing for safe high voltage lithium ion Battery Pack systems (automotive)
- Knowledge of various types for signal and power wire / cables as per industry standards.
- Understanding of electronics & automotive regulations and standards related to the field.
- Knowledge in wire routing in two wheeler, insulations material & testing
