Job Purpose
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager- Technical to lead our technical team. The Operations Manager- Technical will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the technical team, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality technical solutions that meet the needs of our organization and customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the technical operations, providing direction, guidance, and mentorship to team members to ensure their professional growth and development.
- Oversee the planning, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and systems, including servers, networking equipment, storage devices, and cloud services.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our IT infrastructure and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and implement technical projects and initiatives that support the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and service level agreements (SLAs) to track the performance and health of IT systems and infrastructure, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to IT operations, security, and data privacy.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the resilience and integrity of critical IT systems and services.
- Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and process improvement to enhance efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of technical operations.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts for IT products and services, including procurement, negotiation, and vendor performance management.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex issues and incidents, and collaborate with team members to resolve them in a timely manner.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in IT operations, and recommend and implement innovative solutions to address business needs.
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in technical operations management, with a track record of leading teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions and services.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, networking, and cloud computing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of ITIL framework and practices for IT service management, incident management, change management, and problem management.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools, and ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Knowledge of security best practices, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards related to IT operations and data privacy.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation, PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator are a plus

Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
