Job Purpose
Lead - EV-Powertrain Testing & Validation role will encompass Designing, executing, and reporting tests to fulfill design validation requirements for drivetrain systems and components as per the Design Validation Plan (DVP) and communicate the findings to the relevant stakeholders. The individual will also be responsible for managing the powertrain test lab.
Key Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for system and component level validation deliverables of powertrain components.
- Responsible for developing comprehensive DVP test plans for functional, structural, performance, and environmental validation along with budget estimates, resource planning, and test preparation.
- Individuals should be knowledgeable about different test standards and homologation requirements as well as LV/HV testing.
- Individuals will be responsible for lab requirements pertaining to the Powertrain testing.
- Review and improve existing validation techniques, test methods, and processes with a focus on automation to avoid redundancy and achieve better throughput.
- Generation of test cases, test execution, and test reports according to functional requirements, safety goals and functional safety requirements.
- Failure analysis, reporting, tracking of issue resolution and bugfix testing plan.
- Execute and report tests to fulfill design validation requirements for drivetrain systems and components as per the Design Validation Plan (DVP) and communicate the findings to the relevant stakeholders.
Work Experience
Education
BE degree in an appropriate engineering discipline - ME preferred
Experience
- More than 9 years, of relevant experience within the automotive industry.
- Min 7 years of experience in motor testing
- Motor/MCU design validation plans formulation
- Deep understanding of motor operation, including mechanical as well as electrical
- Good understanding of homologation requirements and testing as per various test standards ( AIS, ISO, GMW) Testing LV/HV components. Proficient in the use of tools & equipment for LV and HV analog measurements.
- Failure simulation and root cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
