Job Purpose
The role of Deputy Manager - Apparel Design (Lifestyle Apparel) will be part of the Global Commercial Organization, Apparel function. This role will be responsible for designing Lifestyle Apparel for the Apparel Business. The purpose of this role is to understand the Brand’s DNA and support the Product requirements for the Apparel Business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead the Design Lead with the Seasonal Stories, Concepts, Range Plan & Looks as per the Product Brief.
- Design the complete range of Menswear & Womenswear Lifestyle Apparel; Knits & Woven such as crew-neck T-Shirts, Polos, Sweatshirts, Shirts, Jackets, Cargos, Denims, etc. for the Seasonal collections, Ride events & new Motorcycle launch events.
- Monitor detailed Apparel Tech-Packs on Adobe Illustrator and PLM Software.
- Manage, guide and supervise the team of Assistant Designers.
- Work through creative briefs with consistent high standards whilst meeting the deadlines.
- Conduct extensive market, consumer and product research and create Apparel design concepts based on the product requirement brief at the beginning of every Season (two seasons in a year).
- Work closely with the internal Sourcing Team and external Factories/ Vendors for Sample development & approvals.
- Work closely with the Design, Product, Sourcing and Quality Teams to ensure a seamless work environment and better product output.
- On Time and high quality delivery of Apparel Concept Presentation against the product requirement.
- On Time and high quality of Apparel Range Presentation against the product requirement.
- On Time and high quality of detailed Design Tech-packs.
- Conceptualize and implement the complete range of Menswear & Womenswear Lifestyle Apparel.
- Learning and development through hands-on experience, training modules and teamwork.
- Structured archiving and documentation of all collateral designed for every project.
- Frequent market and vendor visits to understand market, consumer and product better
Work Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree (Full Time) - Fashion Design, Knitwear Design or Textile Design (Preferably from FDDI / NIFT / NID / UGC affiliated Design College)
Experience
- Relevant work experience of 8-10 years in Lifestyle Apparel Design.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator & Photoshop.
- Proficient in PowerPoint presentation & Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of Garment construction for Menswear & Womenswear; Knits & Woven.
- In-depth knowledge of fabrics, dyeing, printing, and surface technique processes.
- Well versed and experienced with Retail Apparel industry processes.
- Creative thinker with good aesthetics and a strong color sensibility.
- Excellent attention to details and a perfectionist.
- Multitasker, ability to deliver projects on-time; adaptable to different work environments and a quick learner.
- A Team Manager.
- Keen towards the evolving trends, up-to-date with the technologies and processes of the Apparel Industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication and language skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as with the Team.
