About the role:
- Reporting to the Global Strategy Director we are looking for a marketing/ communications professional with excellent entrepreneurial, commercial and people skills to lead and develop the function, building awareness of company's activities with key stakeholders, from both an internal and external perspective. The role will include:
- Develop the Communications and Marketing (MarComs) strategy to drive the profile of company's across the media, the apparel sector and with key opinion formers
- Establish company as the leading expert on cotton sustainability by creating compelling narratives through data interpretation to deliver a clear and meaningful message to the wider industry
- Develop the MarComs team and support their skills in selling the company story
- Manage agencies in UK, India & company's countries of presence, ensuring message alignment and on-time delivery
- Lead marketing initiatives, including online presence, social media, and website management
- Represent company at key forums and events and engage with key stakeholders including government bodies and experts
- Develop relationships with other marketing /communications professionals within various businesses and organizations.
- Connecting the global team of around 140 people, building a strong relationship with the teams based in the UK India China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt and Trkiye.
- Undertake market research, identify trends & gaps.
Requirements:
- We are looking for a marketing and communications professional who has a background in sustainability and is passionate in working for a dynamic social enterprise. The role would suit someone with the following qualities:
- 15+ years experience of working in an international environment and driving communications across the US, Europe and Asia.
- The ability to liaise with thought leaders, thinktanks and local government.
- Knowledge of the wider sustainability landscape, with previous exposure to industry-related events and topics.
- A commercial mindset & creative outlook, with experience of promoting media content and industry insight within a multi-stakeholder business or organization
- Excellent people and project organizational skills, understanding the importance of a calm and personable approach to meet tight deadlines
- MBA or Masters in Marketing / Communication from reputed global university / institute
