AddressVP - Direct Origination Risk Monitoring
Key Accountabilities:
- Diligence and Onboarding: to conduct due diligence of originators and loan service providers (LSPs) and own the process of onboarding the LSP from a credit and risk perspective particularly with respect to governance, management, systems and processes of the LSPs.
- Continuous portfolio monitoring: conduct ongoing monitoring of portfolio performance including nature and quality of originations. Periodic monitoring of Originators and loan service providers at least on a quarterly basis including conducting in-depth monitoring of the LSPs' systems and processes, working with their senior management and operations team to identify potential risk areas. These risks may be in corporate governance, quality of field operations, human resources, MIS, underwriting, security creation, operations, collections, monitoring and control systems or financial health of the entity. In case of risks identified, make recommendations on possible measures to mitigate / avoid such risks through process changes etc. and monitor progress.
- Refining existing and developing underwriting and risk management models, framework and tools. Ability to work with data sciences and modelling professionals to build effective credit underwriting and monitoring models; evaluation performance of models towards continuous improvement
- Regulatory and statutory framework particularly with respect to digital lending
- Portfolio management: manage product composition, credit policies, nuanced and in-depth monitoring of portfolio performance, identifying early warning signals, recommending and owning corrective actions.
- Adding to the body of understanding of sectors and products in which Northern Arc seeks to work through research or any secondary study.
- Monitoring macro-economic and sector level risks in retail credit and recommending necessary course of action at a product, partner, geography and sector level as well as engaging with other stake holders such as peers, other investors, credit bureaus, industry associations etc. to drive c onsensus around prudent business and risk management practices in the sector
- Build and manage a team of professionals with diversified skillsets with expertise across retail sectors and products to effectively carry out all the tasks necessary to achieve the desired productivity, achieve outcomes in terms of volumes and quality.
- Engage closely with other teams in the Company including Origination, data sciences, technology, operations, compliance to carry out tasks effectively.
