Sr Team Leader – R&D and GHs Operations & Maintenance
Reporting to (Title) –

Position Purpose
The role holder will make sure the entire R&D and GHs Lab instruments, HVAC, Drive Systems, Air Compressors, Pumps and Utilities Are Operational at all times enabling uninterrupted Research & Development Processes in the Laboratories through Strong LLF Check-up, AMC & Inventory Management, robust Maintenance System (Preventive, Predictive and Breakdown). The position will ensure timely maintenance of all utilities and its control system as per schedule with optimal utilisation of resources, ensure PPE compliance, ensure operational expenses within budget and ensure Implementation of ESG initiatives in timely manner. (S)he will also get involved in infrastructural projects as and when required and will do relevant documentations and preparation of MIS and ensure Capex execution within Budget and timeline.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Active support of the philosophy, values and strategy of PI Industries Ltd.
- Efficient contribution to the overall success of PI R&D Center Udaipur by driving execution according to objectives and targets being set by the R&D management team
- Fulfilling requirements from business (reflected in targets) and support entire R&D facilities activities (PRI & PRD both)
- Support other departments within the frame of given expertise and resources
- Support Lead – Facilities Management and Engineering with special focus on personnel, target setting, development of strengths, building of knowhow, feedback and coaching
Operational Responsibilities
- Unprecedented Management of Lab Equipments: Management of Lab equipment AMCs, manages timely visits of service engineers as per contracts and availability of critical spares parts to minimize downtime
- 24 x 7 Uninterrupted operation of Laboratories and Green Houses facilities (AKRC, PPSRC, Flow pilot, Flow chemistry): Manage operation and timely execution of preventive maintenance schedules for all HVAC, drive systems, air compressors, pumps and general utilities through effective resource allocations, spare part management & its planning within allocated budget.
- Hydrogenation Facility Management (Autoclave)
- Compliance & Safety - Ability to create safe work environment to avoid incidents/accidents, Safety & Statutory Compliances related to Lab Equipments best practices AND Good understanding of Emergency mitigation plan
- AMC management - Lab Equipment & R&D Utilities
- Asset Verification, Addition & Discard

- ISO Compliance: Ensure effective Implementation of PI EHS Policies on shop floor working and ensure it is strictly following and deployment of certain practices such as ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO27001 or other certifications, and /or other regulatory practices, to the extent they relate to the R&D facilities with proper documentations.
- Capex & Revex and Inventory Management: Project plan preparation, its execution and milestone tracking within Budget & timelines
- In general, working and maintaining close working relationships with the users of the R&D facilities to understand their requirements – list out the same, making the action plan and ensure its implementation
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of all technical systems, installations, utilities, services, equipment etc. that are part of the R&D
- Knowledge and experience to recognize potential problems/opportunities in maintenance work for system/process improvement.
- Making sure a complete set of documentation is being kept of all technical systems, installations, etc. including sets of control drawings, and is being kept up to date whenever there are changes
Financial Responsibilities
- Contribute to budgetary controls within the area of responsibility
- Suggest cost improvement areas
People Responsibilities
- Maintain harmonious relationship with the ET&F team and the entire R&D team of the site
- Resource Optimization and developments - develop second line, nurture team for high performance
- Ensure smooth working of the department to maintain high morale of the workforce
- Continuously suggest improvement processes to ensure quality and efficiency
Education Qualification
Technical engineering education; minimum BE / B Tech (Mechanical)- must , Master in HVAC system is desirable
Work Experience
- 14- 20 years of work experience in laboratory environment. Strong Utility experience is preferable.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact and cooperate effectively with different sets of users, peers, other departments in the company and external resources
