Job Overview
Sr. Manager Procurement will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement process and day-to-day functioning of procurement department.
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure that Purchase policy and processes are diligently followed.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, evaluate potential suppliers, and establish procurement policies and procedures.
- Procurement for initial provisioning of aircraft / equipment as planned by Maintenance planning.
- Procurement of Base Maintenance / Major Checks Items.
- Procurement /repair, exchanges and warranty.
- Responsible for providing the maintenance department with sufficient and appropriate supplies and materials as and when required.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, planning, technical services and maintenance teams, to understand their procurement needs and requirements. Ensure effective communication and coordination to meet organizational objectives.
- To establish an organization capable of maintaining and controlling the parts inventory as well as systems that will control and expedite all handling of parts in respect to time limits status.
- To ensure that required items will be available when needed and that the required paperwork is in order and establishes minimum level with adequate lead time to replenish consumption.
- To ensure that aircraft spare parts are procured only from approved vendors, it should be ensured that parts procured from vendors should be accompanied by approved documents to avoid the possibility of acquiring bogus parts.
- To attend daily defect meeting and update the status of spares required for rectification.
- Build and maintain strong relationship with suppliers, negotiate prices and manage supplier performance. Monitor supplier quality, delivery timelines, and pricing to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Skills & Attributes
- High standard of computer literacy (MS office applications)
- Management skills: To resolve operational challenges & conflicts.
- Good knowledge of AMOS or other engineering software.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Work Experience
- 10 years total aviation experience out of which minimum 6 years of working experience in the Procurement function preferably in the airline industry or a similar complex operational environment.
Qualification
- Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Aeronautical engineering or AME course or any other bachelor degree.
