The Role: Specialist: Pre-Sales Technical Support

As one of our experienced Sales Engineers you will be in a pre-sales engineering role within the SEA region. Your responsibilities will include complex systems design, configuration and integration activities. You will be able to excel in articulating Irdeto’s technological thought leadership via customer presentations and proposal documentation. Ability to work towards tight deadlines, often whilst multitasking on multiple proposals and configurations, are instrumental to succeed in this role. You will be expected to play a key role in driving end-to-end technical sales.


To succeed in this role, you need to have a pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach. You are a self-starter who enjoys working both independently and in a team. You combine technical ability with humor and interpersonal skills. You can also communicate efficiently both internally and externally. Since we have a strong international focus with multinational employees and customers across the globe, it is important that you master English in both speech and writing. This is a full-time position based in Singapore with regular on-site customer travel, predominantly, across the broader SEA region. We offer an exciting opportunity to design world leading content security solutions in a fast paced and rapidly growing company.


Required Experience:

A background in video delivery and strong knowledge of OTT and broadcast solutions is essential. In addition:

  • 5+ years of relevant sales engineering experience
  • Strong background in Solutions/Consultative sales approach and process with ability to translate business needs to product solutions
  • Subject matter expertise in Content protection for media, as well as one or more of the following solution areas: Androidtv, DVB, transcoding, packaging and cloud DVR architectures.
  • Specific technical experience in content protection (CAS, DRM), OTT streaming and delivery architecture, and associated systems as well as online piracy knowledge.
  • Experience working with service providers, providing a consultative, articulate approach and providing technical solutions to customers
  • Extensive knowledge of the broader market and industry trends
  • Fluent in English, and ideally at least one other Asian language.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex ideas succinctly.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

  • The role requires close liaison with external partners and with Irdeto internal Engineering, Sales, and Product Marketing departments.
  • An understanding of broadcast content preparation workflows and how elements systems such as editing, scheduling, playout and media asset management fit together in the broadcast environment.
  • Support Sales activities on a technical level including at exhibitions and conferences. This includes assisting with planning and the setup and presenting of demonstrations and PoC.
  • You will Influence Customers vision & strategy, drive Irdeto involvement in creating customer visions, strategies & requirements.
  • Deliver customer value, provide insight on how new trends will affect customer business

Key responsibilities:

  • You will closely liaise with external partners and with Irdeto’s internal Solution and Engineering, Sales and Product Marketing departments.
  • Work closely with members of the sales team to develop sales opportunities with strategic partners.
  • Support Sales by interfacing with existing and prospective partners and customers to determine their technical requirements and to discuss and develop complex technical solutions. This includes architecting new media broadband and OTT solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed product demonstrations and technical presentations to prospect customers and partners for various market segments.
  • Support Sales activities on a technical level at exhibitions and conferences. This includes assisting with planning and the setup and presenting of demonstrations.
  • Respond on time and accurately to questions, RFIs and RFPs and develop sound relationships with key technical players in the account.
  • The writing of White Papers on complex solutions and the presentation of papers at Events/Conferences to support Sales.
  • Provide feedback to Irdeto group marketing and engineering on new product feature requirements.
  • Take ownership and act as the interface between partners and Irdeto functional departments to resolve complex technical sales issues.
  • Work according to Irdeto quality processes and guidelines as applicable
