Senior Manager/ AGM/ DGM- Procurement (Bulk chemicals)
Looking to hire a Sr Manager /AGM/ DGM- Procurement (Bulk chemicals) for a leading Manufacturing MNC based in Mumbai
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and monitor procurement strategies, policies, and procedures for the Paints section in both Decorative and Industrial Business Units with a focus on Direct Spend category.
- Identify and address major cost drivers for each business, implementing strategies to mitigate cost escalation through effective negotiations.
- Track feedstock trends such as Crude Oil, PPCP, Zinc, etc., and conduct forward buying risk analysis.
- Implement cost-benefit analyses through negotiating quantity discounts and managing pricing through formulas.
- Drive initiatives like supply assurance, the development of alternate materials, identification of new vendors, and reducing import dependency.
- Identify and assess new Outside Processing Units, and manage key vendor relationships with strategic supply partners.
Operational Procurement Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the procurement department to align with business requirements and drive cost optimization and sustainability.
- Collaborate with Technical and Production teams to develop alternatives for raw materials.
- Actively manage the supplier portfolio to strengthen partnerships, continuously assess supplier performance, and optimize value for money.
- Ensure high compliance with policies and government regulations.
- Cultivate an innovative culture of continuous process improvement.
Qualifications for Success:
Educational qualifications: BE/BSc/BCom (Preference given to candidates with MBA/MSc/ME/M.Com).
- 5-15 years of work experience in a similar capacity within Paint, Coatings, Inks, Adhesives, Chemicals, or related industries in the organized sector.
- Strong negotiation skills and excellent knowledge of international pricing, USD, and feedstock tracking.
- Proficient in using procurement tools like SAP MM or any other ERP system.
- Exposure to Ariba, e-auctions, Advanced Excel, or Power BI.
- In-depth knowledge of supplier and material analysis methods, contract language, compliance requirements, and financial risk.
- Ability to develop and execute business continuity/strategic plans to achieve financial targets.
- Proven track record of building exceptional collaborative relationships with suppliers, contractors, and colleagues.
- Excellent negotiation, oral, and written communication skills.
