The R&D Senior is a senior member in NIQ Activate’s R&D organization reporting to VP / Director Activate R&D who is based outside India. The R&D senior responsibility is to grow, inspire and motivate teams. Manage software development that incorporates innovative big data technologies and real time analytics to build high volume solutions.
R&D will support the overall Activate's development in a matrix reporting structure while the team he manages engage and support as well other R&D directors outside India.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow the NIQ Activate R&D team in India (15+ FTEs): Team Leads; Front\Back-end development; Data onboarding; tech-support and QA
- Build and lead a dedicated teams of S/W engineers focused on execution & delivery.
- Grow and retain talents, manage professional development for NIQ Activate India R&D group members.
- Monitor the team's performance and metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process changes to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments and peers to ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
- Drive technological innovations across all disciplines.
- Focal point for other R&D managers in the organization
- Maintain close work interfaces with product and other R&D teams.
Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or a related field
- Must have 15+ years of experience as a web developer in a B2B production environment
- 4+ years of experience in managing multiple software development R&D teams for highly scalable, Big-Data products.
- Experience with scaling team size
- Vast experience with cloud-based technology architectures
- Ability to manage and prioritize missions across multiple projects
- An Advantage experience working in agile methodologies and sprint planning
