Job Responsibilities :
- Framing of tenders & contract agreements for item rate contracts
- Review and analysis of contract documents; Preparation of "Pre-Tender Contract Review" Report; Identification of contractual risks, bid queries, favouring clauses etc. at the time of bidding phase
- Analyzing and providing interpretation of provisions relating to extra or excess items; extension of time; Preparation of contractual and price escalation arisen from beginning to closure
- Preparing and managing claims from identification to the time till they are ultimately resolved
- Providing contractual guidance and suggestions from beginning of bidding phase to the final closure of the project
- Ensuing that no correspondence from client/subcontractor remains unanswered. Providing strong, analytical reasons & contractual support to each communication received from client/subcontractor
- Providing all necessary technical and contractual inputs-support required by the Advocates at the time of arbitration or litigation; Preparation of Contractual Rejoinders & Noting during amicable settlement/arbitration/judicial proceedings
- Providing guidance in preparation of different contractual submissions (i.e. bank guarantees, power of attorney, schedules, Manuals, considerations while bidding etc.)
- Ensuring that contractual information used company should be accurate and up-to-date; Map out rights and obligations for each phase under the contract; Ensuring all documentation should be done in accordance with provisions of the contract
- Take responsibility for preparation of 'Extension of Time'; Preparation of 'Price Escalation'
- Preparation of sub-contract documents/specific conditions for subcontracting works; Review and approval of contractual submissions done by sub-contractors and vendors
- Coordination with all functional-heads for Internal Risk Management workings. Organizing risk meetings and proposing revisions/changes in rule-regulations etc
- To prepare quality and EHS manuals
Skills Needed:
- Build and cultivate key internal stakeholder relationships to better understand business needs and provide accurate, timely legal support to various business units of the Organization.
- Should have excellent research and analytical skills and should be able to exercise judgment and discretion to opine on compliance/ legal issues effectively.
- Knowledge of Quality and EHS manuals
- Knowledge of project progress monitoring
- Excellent English writing and oral communication skills, computer savvy, and proficiency with Microsoft Office software
