About the role:
Entertainment (TV and Movies) editor's responsibilities include supervising staff members, producing and editing articles, supervising the work of entertainment writers and collaborating with other editors and senior management.
Experience range : 8-10 years (Relevant working experience in news media companies)
The Entertainment Editor will be a key member of the editorial team, working closely with the ETimes Editor
The ideal candidate should possess a modern awareness of the digital lifestyle space, thrive under tight deadlines and have an unsurpassed knowledge of today’s pop culture landscape. Would be required to work on breaking celebrity news and original entertainment features.
Should have a comprehensive knowledge of Digital content and how it functions, including the role of mobile, use of CMS in publishing stories, social media, search engine tagging, understanding of how analytics work, etc.
We’re looking for someone with a clear vision of how our entertainment coverage can evolve to best serve our audience
This role requires a self-starter who is obsessed with high-performing content, and gets excited about everything
Managing daily celebrity news, entertainment and TV features and live event coverage will all be part of this role’s purview.
Ideate a monthly editorial calendar, including service, celebrity interviews, opinion pieces, predictions, recaps and reactions relevant to our audience
Liaise with photo/design teams to conceptualize
Ensure Entertainment and TV verticals meets monthly traffic goals and our revenue tragets
Exceptional skills in editing and packaging stories well
A broad network of exceptional writers and contributors, as well as a strong roster of contacts within the industry
Someone who is Editorially driven (editorial background), Good in social media and has minimum 8 years of exp into writing & Editing in Entertainment and TV beats
Worked on Content planning and strategizing
Has an inclination for digital marketing.
Can handle the team, guide them and discuss story ideas with the team.
Coordinate with product team for implementations or any sponsor integration
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Managing teams spread across different geographies and keeping their morale high
- Ensuring they coordinate with the other edit teams as well as other support functions in an amicable manner.
- Daily website hygiene check
- Discuss story ideas with team
- Strategising to achieve editorial targets
- Checking Talent Pool for stories and developments
- Prioritizing stories on the website and on TOI
- Prioritizing video content on website and TOI
- Sharing crucial stories on TOI social
- Checking TRENDING Topics
- Writing features/interviews
- Keeping a tab on Google Analytics 24/7
- Coordinating with TOI Editorial for carrying a story under Latest News
- Managing Trending on a weekly basis
- Coordinating with CMS ON DUTY
- Amplifying content through various TOI sister websites
- Basically ensuring all that is required to keep the section the best
in business is followed
