Position Purpose:
Reporting to a functional manager, performs advanced engineering analysis using/developing standard tools, techniques and procedures to evaluate customer requirements and recommend applicable products. Provides presale technical support and training.
Essential Functions:
- Assist account managers and channel partners with technical proposals of existing products.
- Assist customers with technical product issues.
- Independently conducts in-depth research and delivers feedback to Product Line Manager to support the development of Product Roadmaps.
- Collects and maintains regional market intelligence through customer visits, market research an industry events.
- Identify product improvements to address customer needs.
- Provides product technical training to customers, account mangers and channel partners.
- Participates in the development of marketing plan in support of specific product strategies.
- Develops and manages internal logistics of product launch plan.
- Identifies and determines appropriate response to qualified leads from prospective customers.
- Provide product and market information to channel partners.
- Evaluate and provide feedback to the product Line Manager on existing product market performance, including market share, expected revenue, customer satisfaction, maintenance renewals and Gross Margin for a given region.
- Evaluate and provide feedback to the Product Line Manager on internal company performance on existing products, including product life cycle, quality, technical support, marketing programs, and SALES SUPPORT for a given region.
- Produces documentation of regional competitor's SWOT analysis for existing products.
Other Functions:
- Attends tradeshows, conferences and seminars.
- May participate in international account teams.
- Participates in competitive market/product analysis.
- Limited domestic or international travel required.
- May develop and deliver sales training on existing products to account managers and channel partners.
- May support global product launch.
- May support PLM in development of marketing specifications.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Solid Knowledge ofengineering principles.
- Advanced knowledge of energy control technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Capable of leading the development of standard external communications and promotion.
- Able to support product launch plan.
- Ability to work independently.
- Self motivated Goal oriented
- Excellent presentation skills
- Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Education or Formal Training:
- BS Engineering Degree or extensive Woodward product knowledge and demonstrated ability to interface with customers.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
Experience Required:
