As a Product Data Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate and comprehensive product information within our Digital Tools team. Your attention to detail, data accuracy, and organizational skills will ensure that product data is up-to-date, consistent, and readily accessible to support various business functions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that product data is effectively utilized for decision-making, sales, marketing, and customer support activities.
As a Product Data Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate and comprehensive product information within our Digital Tools team. Your attention to detail, data accuracy, and organizational skills will ensure that product data is up-to-date, consistent, and readily accessible to support various business functions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that product data is effectively utilized for decision-making, sales, marketing, and customer support activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Data Management:
- Own the end-to-end management of product data, including data entry, updates, and maintenance in databases, spreadsheets, and other relevant systems.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of product information, including attributes, SKUs, pricing, descriptions, and images.
Data Entry and Validation:
- Enter new product data into the system, adhering to established guidelines and standards.
- Validate and cleanse existing product data to eliminate errors and discrepancies.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with product managers, marketing teams, sales teams, and other stakeholders to gather accurate and timely product information.
- Work closely with the IT department to integrate product data across systems and platforms.
Quality Control:
- Perform regular data audits to identify and rectify inaccuracies or inconsistencies in product data.
- Implement and maintain data quality measures to ensure high standards of data accuracy.
Data Enrichment and Categorization:
- Enhance product data by researching and adding relevant details, such as specifications, features, and benefits.
- Categorize products effectively to support accurate searching and filtering on digital platforms.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain documentation related to data entry processes, standards, and best practices.
- Provide training to team members and stakeholders on proper data entry procedures.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on product data quality, completeness, and usage.
- Analyze data trends to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Marketing, Information Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in data management, data entry, or data quality control.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate and reliable data.
- Familiarity with product information management (PIM) systems or other data management tools is advantageous.
- Proficiency in data entry and data validation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing business needs.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify patterns and trends in data.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
