Job Description :• Installs, configures, maintains, and upgrades database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance
• Manage Oracle database servers through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
• Monitor Oracle Server Alerts, configuration via monitoring tools.
• Perform daily health checks.
• Install & Configure Database cluster configuration and make necessary configuration to maintain HA/DR Requirement
• Maintain the Disaster Recovery Solutions using Oracle Data Guard and Replication such as Transactional, Snapshot & Merge replication.
• Support with User Privileges, Security and Audits as per Enterprise Standards.
• Review and deals with Index fragmentation, CPU Bottleneck, I/O Bottleneck, DBCC checks, Optimization of Query, Data Integrity, Index Tuning, Update Statistics, Error, and Event Handling.
• Assist with Performance tuning, Optimization, Data integrity and Statistics.
• Work closely with the Development team to review releases and manage performance of any changes.
• Apply diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes and recommend solutions to correct failures.
• Perform root cause analysis of recurring problems for defined projects or major incidents.
• Validate database backup (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) are in-place and check periodically for restore of the database.
• Support deployment of Oracle DB changes to lower/production environment.
• Perform ad hoc startup/shutdown of database.
• Facilitate Software vendor remote support through standard connections.
• Research and resolve database connectivity issues to external systems.
• Investigate & resolve technical errors with system copy process.
• Investigate and resolve functional errors (application, database tables/fields, etc.) with system copy process (Co-ordination with Application team)
• Review database and OS logs and significant events on a weekly basis.
• Review database patches and recommend upgrade strategy.
• Apply database patches and supporting software upgrades in coordination with database support team.
• Fulfill Service requests pertains to Oracle Database environment.
• Apply supporting software Patch Sets to OS, database, or administrative tools supporting the database software.
• Coordinate and apply patch upgrades and patch sets using standard database procedures.
• Apply non-emergency database kernel upgrades which corrects Severity 1 and 2 problems.
• Coordinate with 3rd Party vendors, OEM providers, and internal team for any new initiatives and resolve complicated issues.
• Support document and audit preparation tasks related to PCI and SOX'
