Skills Required:
  • DotNet Middleware Engineer will be responsible for architecting, building and maintaining web technology platforms that are utilized by Business Units across Northern Trust.
  • The core function of the team is to Establish PaaS capabilities Provide middleware services on application SDLC projects and Provide L3 escalation engagement on production issues
  • Protocols: TCP, HTTP, SOAP, REST, SSL/TLS.
  • Web Servers: IIS, Apache. Security: Active Directory, LDAP
  • Automation Languages: PowerShell, Ansible, Python
  • App Dev Languages: ASP .Net, .Net Core, .Net Framework, C#, WCF
  • Git repo utilization, Web application development, Azure Boards and Test Plans
  • GitHub CI-CD, Docker and Kubernetes. Strong fundamentals of Windows OS.
  • The role is part of a platform engineering team that offers web technology capabilities to internal clients and partners.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Architect and implement Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions. Establish and enhance platform capabilities.
  • Execute IPLC projects aimed at upgrading middleware technology versions.
  • Deploy and support middleware technology on traditional on-premise, private and public cloud.
  • Onboard and support workloads on container platforms.
  • Participate in team’s on-call rotation for L3 support.
  • Modernize on-prem utilization – migration to SaaS services, containerization and cloud deployment.
  • Enforce technology standards and ensure compliance – Eg: documentation, monitoring, logging, capacity management, disaster recovery, security scans.
  • Manage technology platforms' products' lifecycle - patches and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems on technology platforms.
  • Provide technology guidance to Business Units. Engage on SDLC projects and fulfill middleware infrastructure responsibilities which include environment provisioning, functional and load test support, performance tuning and validation of standards compliance.
  • Collaborate with various Infrastructure teams to facilitate lifecycle activities on network, OS, database and messaging systems.
  • Automation of miscellaneous infra activities – license management, desktop applications deployment, inventory management, patching.
