Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.
Morgan Stanley Investment Management (IM) is a critical business within Morgan Stanley and is a leader in the global investment management business. IM Operations supports the equity, fixed income, multi-asset, liquidity and alternative businesses for IM, providing middle-office services including portfolio manager support, client services, portfolio transition management, market registration, product data and valuation oversight, and performance and attribution analysis, among others. IM Operations serves the firm's portfolio managers and associated teams by providing high quality support through excellence in processing, reporting, and management of strategic initiatives.
The Strategy and Transformation team within IM Operations is responsible for ensuring that IM Operations is ready to meet the future business needs of Morgan Stanley Investment Management. The team will drive the strategic transformation of MSIM Operations by partnering with MSIM operations, business leadership and key support partners. The team will define the future state business objectives and priorities, leveraging partnerships to drive the design, implementation, oversight and governance of MSIM Operations Future State Target Operating Model. Thus ensuring MSIM Operations is a nimble, data driven, front to back organization, providing superior, efficient and sustainable operational support to MSIM's growing, complex and changing business model. The team will seek to deliver increased Operational efficiency without compromising the overall risk and control framework
The IM Operations Transformation team Director will report to the Transformation governance and Automation Lead. The ideal candidate for this role is a person with exposure to elements of the below:
Experience in Program Management specifically Automation Programs (AGILE delivery)
Preferable exposure to Investment Management/ Financial Serviced Industry
Extensive working knowledge of Automation and Data Analytics tools (PowerBI, Alteryx / Tableu/ Power Apps)
The ideal candidate needs to possess great communication skills. Confident and ability to interact with multiple stakeholders/ partners across Transformation and Run the bank organization and deliver exceptional business outcomes and services. They will understand and focus on process and technology and have sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities Include
    Create plan and roadmap on delivering on the Automation Strategy and goals.
    Work with Operations, Risk, Finance, and Technology to consolidate key MIS data.
    Monitor, Consolidate and produce program governance materials and presentations.
    Act as the expert consultant for Automation and Data analytics tools (PowerbI/ Alteryx/ Tableau and Power apps) for the RTB teams
    Effectively work with central team to align deliverables and exchange information for global reporting.
    Review workflows and processes for Operations management to enhance control and promote STP.
    Work on ad-hoc management materials and metrics
    Develop staff, lead projects and control deployment of resources, owning management tools/methods such as work queues, checklists, depth charts and calendars.
    Set direction and expectations for your team(s), defining training plans and transfer of expert knowledge to contribute to team output and development
    Contribute to business plan for area, establish risk/contingency plans, raise and address issues with urgency when required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills Required
    Demonstrates a clear understanding of the business they support and client requirements.
    Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
    Strong working knowledge on tools like PowerBI/ Alteryx/ Tableau and power apps
    Fluency with all MS Office tools, including Power Point, Excel, Project, and Visio.
    Strong client service focus, interpersonal and excellent verbal & written communication skills.
    Strong analysis and problem-solving skills required. Ability to facilitate and execute the analysis of data and technical issues.
    Performs tasks that require deep analytical skills and keep Management informed of progress and activities within their respective area.
    Exhibit a strong sense of urgency, accountability, ownership.
    Ability to follow-up & close out deliverables with teams at offshore / remote locations
    Ability to act as a bridge between multiple Operations and Technology areas.
    Ability to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring un-focused issues to resolution.
    Ability to multitask and prioritize functions and tasks.
