Morgan's Custody and Fund Services business is comprised of Custody, Accounting, Transfer Agency, Middle Office outsourcing, Foreign Exchange, and other activities related to servicing assets for traditional and alternative funds; it leverages its scale and capabilities in more than 100 markets to help clients optimize efficiency, mitigate risk and enhance revenue through a broad range of collateral management, securities financing and alternative investment services.
Job Responsibilities
Securities Services Finance & Business Management (F&BM) is seeking a business manager at a Senior Associate level located in the Mumbai office. The role will provide support for the Securities Services business and help to deliver key strategic initiatives within the Strategic Client Analytics space, primarily relating to Client Profitability. The candidate will work closely with the business along with the functional partners across the firm which includes Product Management, Sales, Product Controllers, Planning & Analysis, Pricing, Client Service, Product Development, Operations, Technology as well as Risk, BCO and Compliance.
- Client Profitability and Analytics. Drive costing analytics for the business to enable accurate client profitability assessments
- Drive analytics around client profitability (SVA, ROE) focusing on expenses but also coordinating with product and sales BM teams on completing the overall client story
- Work closely with Strategic Client Analytics lead and partner with global stakeholders for seamless execution of deliverables
- Client profitability related inputs into global priorities such as the quarterly Jamie Business Review, Budgets, Earnings, Investor Day presentations, ad hoc senior management decks etc.
- Own Low Performing Client analytics, including all key inputs for client profitability
- Align with other CIB LOBs to complete the client profitability story (where we have shared clients)
- Provide periodic updates with key drivers for expense and profitability trends across Securities Services products and clients
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 7+ years of experience in financial services required; prior experience in Securities Services preferred
- Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance required
- Motivated and focused on continuing personal development and that of wider matrix partners via sharing knowledge
- Willingness to take initiative and work independently / be a problem solver and set direction for team. Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with business leaders; both local and global
- Commercial acumen – Ability to understand and grow the strategic business vision; focus on improving the bottom line (SVA)
- Effective communicator – create logical and conclusive presentations, distilling complex subject matter into management-ready materials
- Strong attention to detail, along with ability to work in a controlled environment. Effective planning and time management skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills :
- Expert Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills; Alteryx and Tableau familiarity preferred
- Experience with expense management and controls preferred
