The Role

Bid Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end bid process, from strategy development to submission, with a focus on collaboration, quality, and meeting client requirements. Their role requires a combination of project management, strategic planning, and communication skills to increase the organization's chances of winning competitive bids.

Requirements

  • Responsible for developingand preparing proposals/SOW in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Able toassist in the development of presentations and respond to any requests forinformation from the company's sales team.
  • The proposalwriter is expected to work closely with representatives from severaldepartments, including sales, technical, and the contract department.
  • Able to develop good workingrelationships with people in other departments.
  • Ability to run the team as aperformance driven organization.
  • Dutiesinclude tracking proposals and performance KPIs for the group, writingproposals and other documentation, ensuring that proposals in progress complywith guidelines set by Global Sales Enablement, managing the creation anddistribution of all work documents, maintaining proposal formatting, developingsales presentations, and gathering critical information for various personnel.
  • Able to drive proposalstrategy meeting and conclude any differences.
  • Able to work closely withsales team to set opportunity priorities, deadlines.
  • Meeting proposal deadline byestablishing target dates for information gathering, review and approval.
  • Able to maintain qualityresults by using templates; follow proposal writing standards includingreadability, consistency, and tone.
  • Drivecontinuous improvement in proposal writing by evaluating and redesigningprocesses, approaches, coordination, and boilerplate, and implementingnecessary changes.
  • Accomplishesorganizational goals by taking ownership of new and diverse requests andexploring opportunities to enhance job accomplishments and add value.
  • Leadstoryboard sessions with members of the bid/proposal team to facilitateeffective communication and collaboration in the development process.
  • Present allnew proposal content to the knowledge base manager for review and potentialincorporation into the knowledge base for future reuse.
  • Proficient inMicrosoft Excel and workflow/brain-mapping applications
  • Ability to translate complexconcepts into layperson narrative.
  • Researches and collects data to fully define RFP requirements.
