Procurement Responsibilities
Category Strategy and Strategic Procurement
- Supports implementation and monitoring of Group Principle Risk #5 Supply Failure Risk Management (SFRM) plans within the SBU and related Plants as directed by risk owner, Group CPO. Manages supply risk for allocated categories/suppliers.
- Works with Group Procurement, identifying and developing strategies and plans to contribute to business budget and strategic plan delivery.
- Contributes to the development of and implements category strategies that also deliver other performance targets such as Cost, Quality, Delivery, Innovation, Sustainability and Risk Management.
- Support the alignment of applicable key Plant stakeholders with approval of Group-led category strategies. Implementing excellently Group strategies and plans defined by Group Procurement.
- Support SBU-led and Plant category innovation and continuous improvement across the business, acting as a role model around quality and process standards.
- Develop supply market knowledge to drive value-add sourcing solutions within their key Plant categories. Support or conduct the sourcing cycle for defined SBU-led and Plant categories; engaging negotiation teams when relevant; driving an effective negotiation process.
- Provide data and insights to support SBU category level performance metrics (and/or metrics as directed by Group Procurement) and other relevant management information for the Plant.
- In accordance with Global Standards, supports Plant Procurement Manager conduct supplier segmentation and development, maintenance and communication a preferred supplier and approved product/service list for their agreed categories. Understand the impact of category with Group Procurement and other functions.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with suppliers (refer to supplier segmentation).Performs the sourcing cycle and negotiates with suppliers using a broad array of value-levers and negotiation techniques. Proactively and appropriately communicates with them throughout the sourcing cycle for best Company outcome.
- Ensures all information for issuing tenders is available and sent to all suppliers. Puts together supplier bids in an analytical way that enables to reach a robust and optimal supplier allocation
