What you'll be doing:
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, steering an expanding team of over 8+ engineers towards our company's goals.
- Collaborate closely with product, business, and operations teams to shape roadmaps, develop timelines, and strategize on technical matters.
- Establish and promote our technical vision and standards, ensuring they align with our workplace values and philosophy.
- Uphold the highest level of engineering and operational excellence, setting measurable standards for quality, security and productivity.
- Articulate engineering achievements clearly, highlighting their business value. You will also be responsible for converting business opportunities into actionable engineering initiatives.
- Liaise with the executive leadership to establish expectations, manage risk, and navigate the complexities inherent in delivering sophisticated projects.
- Serve as a coach and thought partner for your team. You will foster problem-solving skills through reflective listening, posing insightful questions, and offering timely, direct, and constructive feedback.
- Lead the recruitment process, attracting, engaging, and retaining talented individuals who excel at problem-solving and collaboration. You will also cultivate diverse and inclusive teams, creating an environment where everyone can comfortably be themselves at work.
What you should have:
- 10+ years of experience as an engineer or technologist.
- Demonstrated 4+ years of leadership, with a focus on how you've nurtured your team's growth and fostered an inclusive, psychologically safe workspace.
- Exhibited exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly the ability to articulate your strategies and the impacts of your work in an accessible manner to non-technical stakeholders.
- A talent for attracting and nurturing high-performing teams, backed by proven experience in recruitment and the development of senior leaders and managers.
- Strong business acumen, including the comfort to engage directly with customers when necessary.
- Be able to balance business requirements, urgency, and the delivery of high-quality, pragmatic solutions.
- Show a keen awareness of industry trends, identifying new tools and technologies that aid in solving technical challenges.
- Any prior experience in Health and in a rapid-growth environment is a plus.
