Role Description
This role will be part of a global team supporting business applications in a follow-the-sun support model working closely with vendor delivery partners. You will work in close collaboration with the Development, QA and DevOps teams to ensure high level of service delivery to business stakeholders while maintaining integrity and stability of the production systems.

Your key responsibilities
- Primarily supports the production platform, carrying out monitoring and remediation of issues and specific maintenance tasks as per the runbook procedures.
- Implements technical and functional solutions as provided by Development/Production Engineers.
- Log and track manual tasks for automation through its completion.
- Analysis of the Production platform to identify performance and resiliency enhancements.
- Ability to track and report project/task progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and performance.
- Facilitates project meetings, workshops and supporting documentations.
- Responsible for Incident, Change and Problem Management for the applications assigned to.
- Primary activities are:
- Engineering and Technical Support.
- Relationship Management.
- Incident, Problem and Change Management.
- Continual Service Improvement activities.
- Disaster Recovery Planning & Testing.
- Production Readiness & Testing.
- Stability & Prioritization Representation.
Your skills and experience
- Working experience in financial institution in providing IT support and dealing with business users on support.
- Experienced in supporting regulatory reporting deliveries E2E across applications including stakeholder management.
- Getting things done in large organizations – understanding of where to use processes and how to build and operate a network.
- Ability to provide out of hours coverage as and when needed.
- Experience in working with virtual and global teams.
- Broad ITIL / best practice service context within a real time distributed environment (ITIL v3 foundation certificate desired).
- Ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies.
- Experience with UNIX, Linux, Wintel, Perl/Shell scripting, Java as well as ability to write SQL’s.
- Experience of Hive, Impala, Micro-Services would be good.
- Experience of Monitoring tools such as Geneos, Splunk and New Relic.
- Experience of Scheduling tools such as Control-M.
- Proactive and able to work independently with goal oriented mind set.
- Strong problem ownership and analytical skills and attitude.
- Proven history of working in a delivery model based on agreed SLA and working to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of services delivered.
- Exposure to any cloud platforms (GCP preferred) would be advantageous.
- Exposure to supporting digital projects using Microservices, APIs, Kafka, Stream sets would be advantageous.
Education / Qualifications Req : Engineering or any other equivalent degree in IT stream.
