Financial Inclusion and Priority Sector Lending
About the Function:
Financial Inclusion is an important initiative by RBI and recommended bank led model for financial inclusion in India. Financial inclusion aims to eliminate the barriers and provide economically priced financial services to the less fortunate sections of the society. The Bank has formed separate dedicated division to promote financial inclusion as a major step towards inclusive growth of India.
Priority Sector Lending (PSL) is one of the crucial mandates of RBI. RBI prescribes that 40% of the bank wide advances should be given to priority sectors. This is a crucial aspect of banking and is monitored closely by the regulators and the senior management of the Bank. The PSL Horizontal Team is a bank-wide PSL focussed team. This team focuses on multiple aspects of PSL such as business development, PSL certificates trading strategy, process and compliance.
Job Description:
The job will entail working with following key responsibilities:
- Assisting business vertical teams in business development, including new product ideas and new business areas
- Creating budgets for costs, volumes, targets for the business vertical
- Managing, tracking and reporting KPIs and dashboards. Analysing the trends and identifying the variance
- Develop and implement databases, data collection processes and metrics
- Generate reports from single or multiple sources, interpret the reports and analyse them. Provide insights of data to various internal stakeholders.
- Working on regular reviews with business teams and senior management
- Develop and analyse the PSLC trading strategies
- Consolidate product process and compliance policies
- Develop and enhance various technology and system related changes focussing financial inclusion and priority sector lending Perform various checks and audits for accurate reporting to regulatory agencies
Job Requirements:
- Education qualifications: CA/ MBA from a top institute in the country
- Fresher or up to 2 years of experience in financial services preferably banking & lending
- Ability to work with multiple teams in a co-ordinated and co-operative manner
- Ability to create complex financial models on Excel
- Candidate should have good presentation & communication skills, and ability to work with limited timelines
- Ability to think and grasp regulations, understand nuances and come up with solutions
- Flair to work with technology teams to develop system solutions
