Job Purpose
This is a niche and expert role contributing to conceptualizing, detailing and preparing the ergonomic design, design for manufacturing and scale up for standalone devices, digital interfaces and bringing the expertise of Usability Engineering and industrial engineering.
Key Accountabilities (1/6)
- Conceptualize, detail, and produce ergonomic design, design for manufacturing and scale up
Design ownership across standalone products and combination products in conceptual stage of design, development and further in the scale of industrial development
Key Accountabilities (2/6)
For digital assets, setup UI/UX interfacing and patient handling studies of devices.
- Define user flow, screen time, user elements and patient value for the digital assets in the portfolio
- Conduct user studies, mock tours, deploy digital screening tools and finalize the UX workflow for the digital assets
- Work closely with digital partners to implement the signed off UI/UX
Key Accountabilities (3/6)
For combination products, create patient centric Generic substitutable ergonomic device designs
- Apply design principles by the market of interest for patient centric device interfaces and device designs
- Ensure compliance of devices to relevant regulations and quality norms
- Identify and select design houses related to the specific device, provide inputs to develop the product and submit for approval
- Coordinate the flow of inputs between internal departments and design houses in order to align on the specifications of the required device

Set protocols for anthropometric principles in Device User interfacing and validation
- Set protocols for anthropometric principles in Device User interfacing and validation
- Create a database of the anthropometric data for Cipla requirement and snippets for the IP litigations to support head of the department in IP fencing.

Documentation of these design iterations, updating Cipla devices team with latest regulatory requirement on device guidelines e.g. human factor studies.
Build new toolkits on human factors, patient handling scenarios, new capabilities in rapid prototyping,

Education Qualification
Masterâ„¢s in industrial engineering or M. Des from the top tier institutions
Education from mechanical engineering or instrumentation during bachelors preferred
Relevant Work Experience
At-least 6-7 years of experience, including background in engineering, medical devices (design, development, and manufacturing)
Skills:
- Experience in Designing of user interfaces on digital platform/connectivity
- Exposure to Population and Usability Engineering factor study
- Skills in product information and UI/UX development
