About this role


Leads a team of Supply Chain planners, including day-to-day operations, managing talent selection and performance and interfacing with the business on order fulfillment considerations relevant to the business.


Oversees supply decisions for multiple production sites or multiple plants at one site, within a single business or multiple smaller businesses. Balances supply and demand over the tactical horizon, to achieve optimum product availability, asset utilization and Supply Chain efficiencies. Plant locations will be in a single region or a number of plants globally.
In this role, you will require in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of your discipline or functional area. You will need to understand your discipline's best practices and how they relate to others. You may need to lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements as well as serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues. You should also be able to explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus with others.
It is your responsibility to be able to use judgment to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems and escalate issues with broader business impacts to your leader. You have formal supervisory responsibilities and lead teams either of technical operations, business operations, or operational support employees. You will set daily priorities and coordinate resources to meet operational objectives. Your performance impacts the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of your team members and their contributions to broader operations.
Responsibilities


  • Provides direct leadership to a team of SC planning professionals.
  • Provides day-to-day coaching on planning operations.
  • Accountable for decisions regarding employee desk complexity and performance.
  • Ensures work process execution is operating effectively within the team.
  • Collaborates with the business to ensure business strategy and service offerings are met.
  • Makes hiring decisions, Facilitates training, and provides mentoring.
  • Ensures that strategic and tactical business decisions are made with a full and integrated understanding of current and future Supply Chain capabilities, potential impacts to service, cost, working capital and sustainability, and effective risk management/mitigation
  • Manages inventory levels to target expectations and customer service availability agreements
  • Monitors safety stock targets and manages supply plans against those targets.
  • Supports preparation for the Supply Review by running and reviewing appropriate reports/KPIs and dashboards, to ensure a productive discussion and IBP process
  • Maintains strong linkages with Demand Manager and ensures full integration with Finance and Accounting
  • Resolves issues or exceptions outside the business rules/boundaries and intervenes when needed to address performance gaps
  • Assesses short-term feasibility requests from all countries (where necessary)
  • Maintains and/or coordinates maintenance of planning parameters in accordance with master data governance
  • Drives global Supply Chain initiatives by interfacing with other Supply Chain personnel in the business and shared services.
  • Implements metrics for setting and delivering global Supply Chain targets including inventory, Supply Chain cost to serve, transactional service standards, service levels and service quality.
  • Tracks key performance metrics, Supply Chain performance data, and generates improvement opportunities and implements new identified opportunities.


Qualifications


  • 8 or more years of experience in a Supply Chain or Manufacturing Environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in team or people management.
  • University Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or other Sciences.
  • The critical competencies required for success are: Supply Chain management skills, interpersonal effectiveness, team work, team management and delegation, taking initiative, problem solving skills, value creation, technical proficiency in use of computer applications, analytical skills, project management skills, mentoring skills, and independent decision making skills.
