The role of Senior Principal Electrical Engineer is to lead the development of creative solutions to challenging problems related to sustenance engineering of Respiratory health products.
You will possess strong technical capabilities, excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on saving and sustaining the lives of patients.
Demonstrated experience driving technology with a focus on differentiation and Innovation
Demonstrated ability to influence and drive business unit direction utilizing internal and external resources on business unit initiatives.
Driving sustenance engineering projects and technical changes related to Respiratory Health products portfolio with strategic planning.
Identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvements and drive continuous process improvements to address those opportunities
Technology planning and rationalization experience with an excellent understanding of product system architecture, platforms and core technologies
Influencing strategic development of global product roadmaps with a focus on technical differentiation that addresses key customer needs
Influencing business leadership through action-oriented recommendations based upon market, competition, and technology
Coaching and mentoring to develop the technical talent in product technology, process, career growth and technical excellence
Broad influence over large multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams, and solves complex and ambiguous problems with adoption of engineering standards
Provides expert guidance and support to the development organization in various technical/functional aspects of research, development and engineering and supports the stewardship of intellectual property.
This position is based out of Bangalore and reporting to the Associate Director, Devices Engineering for Respiratory Health division of Front Line Care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Defines design requirements and hardware specifications based on customer or user requirements.
- Contributes to the development and documentation of electronic system architectures.
- Lead the creation of designs of analog and digital electronic circuit schematics for microcontroller-based systems, meeting performance objectives.
- Analyzes circuits using calculation and simulation methods to assess performance limits, effects of environmental and load stresses, and timing interfaces to ensure consistent performance in safety critical applications.
- Good knowledge on Power Integrity, Power Sequencing, LTSpice, Pspice.
- Completes deliverables related to design of systems and sub-systems of the overall electrical architecture.
- Must have strong experience in designing product with multiple power sources like AC/DC, DC/DC, Lithium Ion Battery Pack etc
- Develops, modifies, and approves electrical design documentation, specifications, and drawings.
- Supervises/coordinates with team of electrical engineers on assigned work
- Defines appropriate test methods to verify designs meet their performance requirements.
- Directs the layout of circuit assemblies to meet emissions and immunity performance requirements and design for manufacturability guidelines.
- Transitions products to manufacturing and ensures robust products and manufacturing processes.
- Develops and maintains an effective and corroborative working relationship with internal and external development partners.
- Resolves competing constraints between interrelated functions (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, marketing, etc.) required to deliver the product to market.
- Executes protocols and testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s).
- Leads the troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts related to electrical aspects of devices/ subsystems.
- Creates and communicates design/test plans, tasks, deliverables and status. Manages time and resources to meet committed schedule milestones.
- Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective / Preventive action as needed.
Your Team:
You will be reporting to Associate Director, Devices Engineering for Respiratory Health. This position does not have any direct reports. You will need to work collaboratively with R&D and cross functions.
Your Location:
The role is located in the BRD facility in Bangalore India.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience in Design and Development of hardware Systems/ subsystems.
- A demonstrated track record in electromechanical hardware development, preferably medical devices or other highly regulated products.
- Knowledge and experience in digital and analog design.
- Must have strong experience in designing product with multiple power sources like AC/DC, DC/DC, Lithium Ion Battery Pack, AA Battery.
- Experience testing electronic devices to meet immunity and emissions requirements.
- Knowledge and experience using CAD systems for printed circuit board schematic design and layout (Altium Designer, preferred) and data acquisition software (LabVIEW).
- Knowledge of standards such as IEC 60601, IEC 61010, UL, ANSI and ASTM
- Understanding of and adherence to FDA, ISO and IEC design control procedures, regulations and standards.
- Proven experience in delivering healthcare devices to meet IEC basic safety, EMI-EMC standards and working closely with the regulatory bodies and affiliated labs
- Leads the regulatory responses and audits (internal and external) from the front.
- Adheres to Baxter Quality Management system & front ends the quality audits.
- Mentor peers / Engineers in the stream of their expertise and on the processes.
- Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective / Preventive action as needed.
- Demonstrated experience in accomplishing objectives. Able to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills.
