As a Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Banking's Markets Technology team, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications and platforms products. You drive significant business impact and help shape the target state architecture through your capabilities in multiple architecture domains.
Job responsibilities
- · Owns engagement with technical and business teams to rapidly understand technology and business modernization including cloud migration.
- · Assist on regulatory exams to own the discovery and consolidation of information into comprehensible return.
- · Work across the portfolio identifying reference architecture, patterns to improve consistency and efficiency.
- · Review new business technologies to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- · Work closely with application development teams; understanding business objectives then leading strategic architecture choices and contributing to the design to ensuring they can be met.
- · Participate in architecture governance bodies driving change and efficiency.
- · Represents a product family of technical governance bodies
- · Provides feedback and proposes improvements to architecture governance practices
- · Guides evaluation of current technology and leads evaluation of new technologies using existing standards and frameworks
- · Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- · Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Curious problem solver with ambition to keep up with rapidly changing technical landscape
- Skilled in verbal, written and diagrammatic communication, working across a wide range of people with the ability to adapt approach and styles.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Understanding of software development lifecycle especially defining and governing it.
- Advanced knowledge of one or more architecture pillar: Business, Application, Data, Infrastructure, or Integration.
- Understanding of building secure solution designs including cloud experience
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Practical cloud native experience
- Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience of architecture in multiple areas in the Front Office or Post Trade including business application development
