The mission of this role is to design and oversee the implementation of an organization's IT infrastructure. This includes networks, servers, virtualization, storage, security, and other technology components to ensure they meet the organization's needs and goals. The architect is responsible for planning, optimizing, and maintaining the infrastructure to support the organization's operations and growth. They work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, assess technology options, and create a strategic roadmap for the IT infrastructure. It's a challenging and rewarding role that requires a mix of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
How You Will Spend Your Days
- Network Design: Designing and implementing network architecture, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure secure and efficient communication within the organization.
- Server Infrastructure: Planning and configuring server environments, including physical and virtual servers, KVMs, storage solutions, and backup systems to support business applications and data storage needs.
Designing and implementing KVM virtualization solutions to meet the organization's needs, including setting up virtual machines, networks, and storage.
- Integration and Automation: Integrating KVM with other systems and technologies, such as cloud platforms, storage solutions, and automation tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Cloud Integration: Evaluating and integrating cloud services (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) into the organization's infrastructure to leverage scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Security Architecture: Developing and implementing security measures, such as access controls, encryption, intrusion detection systems, and security policies to protect the infrastructure from cyber threats and data breaches. Implementing security measures within KVM environments, such as access controls, network segmentation, encryption, and security policies to protect virtualized resources.
- Disaster Recovery: Designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure data and system availability in case of emergencies or system failures.
- Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Implementing monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques to proactively identify and address infrastructure issues, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensuring that the infrastructure meets regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS, by implementing necessary controls and procedures.
- Vendor Management: Collaborating with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate solutions, negotiate contracts, and oversee the implementation of outsourced infrastructure services.
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Computer Science, or related Engineering field.
- Minimum 14 to 18 plus years overall experience in IT domain
- Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in Data Centre Architecture.
- Azure Architect Certification or working experience.
- VMWare Architect Certification or working experience
- Kubernetes CKAD Professional or working experience
- Expert level knowledge of migrating On-Prem VMs to KVMs.
- Experience of Vendor Management & Governance based on SLA
- Experience knowledge of Network topology , design & architecture will be added advantage
- Have practical experience in working with various virtualization tools and technologies, such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V Manager, KVM, VirtualBox, or Docker.
- Experience and interests to work in multiple time zones (India & US majorly).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of Microsoft , VMware, KVM, Kubernetes, Oracle , SQL and other technologies licensing will be added advantage
