Job description

Brief on the Organization:

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health.  PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders. Deliverables:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GST regulations, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a proven record of accomplishment in managing GST-related tasks. The Senior Officer/ Assistant Manager- Finance will play a crucial role in ensuring the Organization’s adherence to GST laws and regulations, minimizing risks, and optimizing processes related to GST compliance.

Major roles & responsibilities will be:

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and other applicable forms.
  • Monitor changes in GST laws and regulations and update internal processes accordingly.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance with GST laws and regulations.
  • Maintenance of ERP based (Oracle) financial ledgers and accounting processes.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all GST-related transactions and documents.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of GST-related documentation, invoices, and records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for GST compliance.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders, including tax authorities and consultants, to address queries and resolve issues.
  • Identify potential risks related to GST compliance and implement measures to mitigate these risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize GST-related liabilities.
  • Provide training to relevant teams on GST regulations, compliance requirements, and any changes in the GST framework.
  • Timely Preparation, issuance, submission of various certificates and returns and payment of taxes under Income GST.
  • Oversee the implementation of E-invoicing systems and processes within the organization.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure seamless integration of E-invoicing with existing financial systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot any issues related to E-invoicing processes.
  • Any other task assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification:

Essential:

  • Master in finance or a related field.
Experience:

Essential:

  • Around 5 years’ experience in non-profit sector.

Desirable:

  • Proven experience (more than 5 years) in GST compliance and related areas. Certification in GST or relevant field is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of compliance laws like GST and FCRA including.
  • Good communicator and a team player, resilient and capable of supervising and leading a team of finance staff.
  • The candidate should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment with excellent communication skills.
  • You must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgment showing logical decision making, and a hands on approach.
  • Computer literate with good excel skills and database management and solid understanding of ERP workflows.
