Inviting applications for the role of Manager/Senior Manager, Accounting Specialist!
This role is positioned to sit as part of a small team to drive and embed an enhanced level of quality performance across a Finance team, across multiple disciplines. It will work across Service Provider and Customer to identify, diagnose, rectify, and train process and capability enhancements.
This role is for quality reviews of general ledger processes and approve for posting. The role also involves service recovery and rework of cases thus acting as an Accounting Specialist.
Quality control - Review and approve journal posting and balance sheet reconciliations. Mark the work on a quality evaluation form, generate scores, reports, and analysis. Complete rework/correct errors when failures are identified.
Supporting general ledger processes including year-end closing. Maintain ledgers, currencies, budgets, & journal entries, deliver solutions including a flexible accounting structure, comprehensive journal processing, hierarchical summaries, intuitive inquiry & reporting, dynamic allocations & the management of commitments & expenditures, run interface reports & perform close books of accounts.
Responsibilities
. Determination of a quality framework, implementing quality planning, assurance & controls, and driving quality improvements.
. Review P&L accounts errors, omissions, or inconsistencies and report.
. Service recovery in case of failures identified during quality review.
. Improve quality by creating control points for recurring errors and checking effectiveness of these control points.
. As part of service recovery, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, preparing cash forecasting statement.
. Supporting month/quarter end close, preparing reports and supports in audits.
. Help with small task-based process improvements and ad hoc support requests.
. Understanding of P&L accounts, general ledger, book-keeping, journal entry, voucher entry, trial balance and month-end reporting.
. Strong experience in journals, general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, month/quarter end closing, financial analysis & reporting
. Experience in reviews and quality analysis.
. Share in the daily review and overview of journals posted by the accounts team.
. Help clients and teams in their operational efficiency and balance sheet integrity, reduce time to close aligned with regulatory requirements.
. Establish, develop and strengthen relationships with stakeholders internal and external parties to maximize influence and achieve business objectives.
. Assist in the management of quality and controls (operational controls)
. Provide advice, guidance and information on quality and controls to support decision making and improve understanding of accuracy and consistency of underlying data.
. Actively coach and develop team members using insights from quality reviews.
. Develops own knowledge of standard procedures and processes.
. Act as a point of reference to guide and advise others to ensure the sharing of knowledge and best practices.
. Supports others in the team where appropriate to assist in the achievement of their objectives.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
. Chartered Accountant/Cost and Works Accountant/CA Inter/Masters in business administration with post qualified experience.
. Worked in an outsourced finance model with successful work experience with UK & US clients.
. Track record of delivery/quality in a transformational culture
. Experience in facilitating and encouraging teamwork and developing people.
. Ability to think strategically with the confidence to challenge and influence.
. Experience of defining and delivering against insurance operations KPIs.
. Able to conduct detailed audits of journals and reconciliations.
. Able to identify reconciliations, Journal, and other inaccuracies.
. Strong business process and control knowledge with an ability to use this knowledge to contribute to the
. Recommend and implement controls to mitigate errors.
. Conduct root cause analysis and determine actions to mitigate.
