JD for Lead category procurement

Reporting to Excipients Lead (Senior General Manager)

Key Responsibilities:

Following would be the JD for this position of Category Lead for Excipients

1. Category based procurement of Excipients (from both local and international vendors) for all plants.
2. Co-ordinating with all plant planners to ensure material availability.
3. Identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, e-bidding for excipients.
4. Supplier Management: Develop strong relationships with suppliers, monitor their performance, and address any issues or concerns to ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery schedules.
5. Analyze market trends, conduct cost-benefit analysis, and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize procurement processes and expenses without compromising quality.
6. Co-ordinate with plant planners for demand forecast, manage inventory levels, and minimize stockouts or excess inventory to ensure uninterrupted production and minimize carrying costs.
7. Ensure compliance with regulatory and QA requirements, throughout the procurement process, including supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and product quality assurance.
8. Identify potential risks by adding alternate source, develop mitigation strategies, and implement contingency plans to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, operations team, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and finance, to align procurement activities with business objectives and support overall organizational goals.
10. Support to our international plants: Responsible for trading of excipients to Sun’s international locations (11 locations) by delivering materials to the dedicated warehouse,

co-ordinating with the export logistics team to export to the requester countries timely basis.
