Role Summary:
This position is responsible for overall management of HR, Administration and IR functions in Cylinders & Labels, Bengaluru Plant.
Detail Responsibilities:
Industrial Relations & Employee Discipline:
- Maintain healthy Industrial Relations for smooth functioning of the Plant to achieve organizational goals
- Ensure and implement proper disciplinary procedure in the Plant so that the plant runs smoothly, achieves Productivity, Quality with reduced waste and absenteeism. Take appropriate disciplinary actions on the delinquent workmen
- Liaise with various Government Authorities & Statutory Compliances
- Liaise with various Government Authorities such as: PF, ESIC, Factory Inspectorate, Government Labour Office, PCB, Village Panchayat, Municipal Corporation, Industry Associations, Police Dept., etc.
- Giving replies to Non-Compliance Notices received from Government departments.
- Working with consultants (wherever appointed) to ensure required compliances are fulfilled as per the notices received from any Government Departments.
- Responsible for implementation and practice of applicable legal requirements and law of land
- Court Cases
- Handling labour related court cases and coordinating with Advocates to ensuring smooth closing of all the pending matters in various courts.
- Employee Performance Evaluations
- Ensure timely and fair performance appraisal for all employees.
- Handling employee grievances after Mid-Year Reviews & End Year Reviews pertaining to employee performances & increments.
- HR & Admin Cost Budgeting
- Responsible for HR & Admin. Cost budget preparation.
- Responsible for monitoring headcount & costs as per approved budget for the year.
- Recruitment & Selection
- Ensure recruitment within stipulated budget / sanction / timelines
- Sourcing of Candidates as per requirement through various sources
- Getting necessary interviews done and ensuring closing of positions
- Employee Engagement & Welfare Activities

- Plan and implement various monthly employee engagement activities
- Administering Employee Engagement Surveys and ensuring maximum participations
- Presentation of Survey Results through employee communication
- Preparation of Plan of action along with respective department heads based on survey results improvement plans and execution of action plans in a time bound manner
- Administration of canteen facility, employee transportation facility, uniforms etc.
Training & Development:
- Partnering with Plant Management to design and implement employee development and Succession plan.

- Designing yearly training plan based on competency levels of employees
- Monitoring training plan and ensure planned trainings are completed on monthly basis
Time Office Administration:
- Ensure Time Attendance System works effectively. Leave Record, absenteeism record is maintained properly, and Salary & Wages are paid to all employees in time.
- Manage contract labour effectively. Also ensure Minimum Wages are timely paid by the contractor to his employees, PF, ESIC contribution is paid, and the Contractor complies with the provisions of various Labour Laws under the Contract Labour Act.
- Ensure strict adherence to statutory laws as required under various Labour Laws and enforcing total discipline in the premises
Administering HR Systems & People Processes:
- Ensuring all people processes are being followed in W2HO and the same is up to date.
- Ensuring all time office data is updated in Paysquare and attendance, leaves, employee reimbursements etc. are being routed through Paysquare.
- Ensuring all statutory compliance checklist is updated in Lexcare and necessary documents as required are uploaded.
- Implementation and administration of HR Policies in Units.
Administration Function:
- Ensure proper Security Arrangement is put in place to take care of employees and property of the Plant
- Responsible for ensuring benchmark product safety and quality parameters are in place and are implemented
- Responsible for implementation of Occupational Health and Safety requirements and environmental management system requirements
- Responsible for implementation and practice Huhtamaki Code of Conduct
- Responsible for implementation and practice of maintaining 5S+S standards in the department
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lead a team, communication & presentation skills
- Exposure of SMETA/ Social audit and Statutory audits, knowledge of ISO 9000, 14000, 22000
- Exposure of LTS, Union management.
- Exposure of Online PMS/ Workdays etc.
- Preference to Packaging Industry background
