Job Title - Head of Sales, Fuel & Lubricant Solutions India

Objectives of the Position         


Why does this position exist?  With what permanent objectives?


  • Responsible for all sales & marketing activities of Fuel & Lubricant Solutions in India through creating and implementing local strategies and tactics in line with the global and regional specific Asian strategies to achieve business targets and secure sustainable business growth.
  • Hunt and nurture the new business potentials in the market and contribute to strengthening global strategies.
  • Ensure compliance of EVA India business with IATF 16949.

Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities


Strategy development


  • Create and implement local strategies and tactics in line with the global and regional Asian strategies to achieve business targets and secure sustainable business growth.
  • Develop technical marketing strategy by identifying, evaluating and interpreting local customers' needs and technology trends to guide business unit innovation and sales growth initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of regional technical marketing strategy for both segments of components and formulations in Fuel & Lubricant solutions in India.

New business development


  • Direct the activities and lead the local resources including EVA Lab to develop and penetrate local market with new or existing products, services, technologies of fuel and lube portfolio.
  • Search for the market potential to catch the new business opportunities
  • Collect market information to come up with the innovative ideas or solutions to the sustainable growth of the business
  • Visit and establish professional relationships with key existing and potential customers.
  • Keep favorable relationship with related industries, government offices and association and institute to update regulations, major technology trends and new extension projects.
  • Lead scouting and evaluation of “Make-in-India” options via investment, joint venture, M&A, local partnerships or technology licensing

Market intelligence


  • Update and evaluate market & industry trends, intelligence on competition, technical development, marketing activities and so on.
  • Keep contact with key accounts to evaluate the needs and trends of the market.
  • Share the acquired information with the global and regional teams to develop the right strategy.
  • Regulatory follow up

People management and communication


  • Be an ambassador for “We are Fuels & Lubes” culture; form and keep the strong team spirits to grow together.
  • Motivate, promote and manage development plan for individual sales teams in the Southeast subregion with high potential and develop a succession plan.
  • Support and encourage team members to develop competencies and achieve goals
  • Steer the team to be operating with the best efficiency
  • Regularly check and adjust team members’ job and functions in balance with performance and competency.
  • Administrative leadership to functions such as Supply Chain.

Team Automotive India:


  • Active participant in Team Automotive India as a Core Team Member involved with multi-BU topics such as customer engagement, people development, sustainability, local strategy etc.
  • Key Account Management of an OEM as may be assigned by Team Automotive Leadership.

Governance/ Compliance


• Be responsible for ensuring compliance with respect to BASF’s license to operate in your area of responsibility(ies). Compliance, in accordance with the BASF Code of Conduct means adherence to:


(1) applicable laws and regulations


(2) internal guidelines and policies, and


(3) ethical business practices.


Keep the Managing Director informed of any and all matters concerning or impacting Compliance from time to time. 


Job Requirements (Minimum requirement to carry out the work)


Education


  • University degree (Master Degree or Diploma) - preferably in chemistry or related discipline

Working Experience


  • At least 10 years of experience in Petrochemical industries, fuels and lubricant oil additives
  • At least 10 years experience in business management, sales, or related function; experience in product and price management beneficial
  • Experience in preparing compelling proposals and demonstrating st
