Job Title : Assistant Project Head for Disaster Relief Response (with Procurement and Delivery Responsibilities)
Location : Bangalore

Job Summary:
- We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Assistant Project Head for Disaster Relief Management who will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating Disaster Relief projects.
- In addition to managing project activities, the Assistant Project Head will also be responsible for procurement and delivery coordination, particularly during periods of high demand.
- This role requires strong leadership skills, project management expertise, and the ability to handle procurement and logistics effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Disaster Relief Project Management:
- Collaborate with the Project Head to develop project plans, set objectives, and allocate resources effectively.
- Supervise project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to streamline project implementation and resolve issues as they arise.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Prepare regular progress reports and updates for management and stakeholders.
Procurement and Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee procurement activities, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and negotiating contracts for goods and services needed for Disaster Relief efforts.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely acquisition and cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Work closely with vendors to expedite orders, track deliveries, and resolve any issues related to product quality or availability.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and inventory levels.
- Implement inventory management systems and procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize wastage.
Delivery Coordination:
- Coordinate the delivery of relief materials to disaster-affected areas, ensuring timely and efficient distribution.
- Liaise with logistics providers, transportation companies, and volunteers to organize delivery schedules and routes.
- Monitor delivery progress, track shipments, and address any logistical challenges or delays as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of sensitive or perishable goods during transit.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and mentor project team members, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment promoting teamwork, creativity, and innovation.
- Lead by example and demonstrate a solid commitment to the organization's mission and values.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in project management, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, Disaster Relief, procurement, or logistics, with proven leadership capabilities.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software, procurement tools, and inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of Disaster Relief operations, humanitarian principles, and relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances and willingness to work extended hours or weekends when required.
- Passion for humanitarian work and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on communities affected by disasters.
- Proficient in a wide range of technical skills, including: Advanced use of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, for data processing and management tasks.
- Experienced in utilizing project management tools such as Trello, Zoho, Salesforce, among others, for efficient project coordination and task management.
