Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role : We offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
Introduction : The role holder will take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls for PB India. Provide clear articulation of the risk and control landscapes including ability to demonstrate an understanding of control requirements for relevant internal and external Regulatory policies. This will include (but is not limited to): Control, Issues, Risk Event and Audit guidance, guidance on Policies and Standards and the oversight and management of risk. The role holder will be part of the 1st line of defence in the Business and operates within the Business COO function.
What will you be doing?
- Embedding the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) to ensure appropriate risk management coverage, building effective partnerships with colleagues across the 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defence, aligning priorities to anticipate and ensure future potential issues are avoided.
- Ensure regulatory and Policy requirements are adhered to.
- Assess Cross Border requirements and providing solutions/go ahead with the OnBoarding / additional services offered to the client.
- Execute Risk and Controls Self-Assessment (RCSA) which provides assurance to the management on the effectiveness of controls.
- Handle central activities like Conflicts of Interest, Records Management, Projects etc.
- Audit Handling and delivers ROC activities on Risk Events, Issue Management, running Control forum and provides data in various forums.
- Financial Crime activities in 1LOD
- Conduct QA checks on activities conducted by the business. Publish Conduct metrics and discuss the outcome / impact with senior stakeholder.
What we're looking for :
- Experience of working in or within a Control type role/team with the ability to demonstrate a risk management mindset.
- Proven Stakeholder Management experience and ability to influence at senior management level.
- Excellent written and verbal Communication.
- Proven track record of influencing control environment.
- Ability to prioritise and organise work activities on a daily basis to ensure key deadlines and met and business is supported.
- Strong analytical, decision making and investigatory skills.
- Problem solving and high level of attention to detail.
- Strong ability to influence at senior management level and apply judgement to balance risk versus business interest whilst ensuring compliance to all relevant policies and standards.
- Good understanding and knowledgeable on aspects of Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), Operational Risk Framework (ORF) and Control Framework (BCF).
Skills that will help you in the role :
- Private Banking experience desirable and should preferably be a MBA/CA.
- Highly experienced in dealing with multiple stakeholders in different business functions who have different objectives e.g. Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance, Fraud, Legal.
- Extensive working knowledge of operational Risk & Control processes and practices, including experience in their application across functions.
