Associate Manager- Medical Affairs (Obesity and New Therapy Areas)

About the department
Global Medical Affairs, GBS (GMA GBS) is an extension of the Global Medical Affairs unit in Headquarters (HQ) in Denmark and is based out of Global Business Services (GBS), Bangalore, India. One of the team within GMA-GBS is Medical Affairs department including a sub-team for obesity portfolio and investigator sponsored studies (ISS) management. The team consists of highly motivated and experienced global medical advisors working with global teams cross functionally and Medical Affairs director areas based at HQ (Copenhagen, Denmark). This team is responsible for planning and executing the Medical Affairs strategy for products accountable by GMA-GBS (liraglutide 3.0 mg) and supporting the Medical Affairs strategic actions for the GLP-1 obesity portfolio and New Therapy Areas, currently managed by teams at Copenhagen, Denmark.

Our core competencies are 1) Communicating scientific and medical knowledge on our products to the external scientific community and across the organization; 2) Evidence generation and support to clinical trial program across phases and Newer Therapy Areas; 3) Publication planning- drive development of publications according to publication plan and strategy for each product/project in collaboration with the Global Publication Team; 4) KOL engagement activities- contribute to and execute global Health Care Professionals strategy, execute global meetings/advisory boards and support speakers in preparation for presentation of NN data at conferences and symposia 5) Medical educational events including symposiums at international congresses and stand-alone summits/virtual webinars ; 6) Internal Medical guidance - Support execution of global medical strategy, support alignment of relevant cross-functional business activities on specific product/project, support development of promotional materials initiated by Global Marketing.

The position
Reporting to the Associate Director of Global Medical Affairs, you are in charge for the overall performance of the team including timely planning and proper execution of projects and deliverables. Further, you are responsible for the performance and development of approximately 4-5 dedicated employees. Your role will be required to set the direction to the team, setting the strategies and ensure high professional structure and standards within the team.
Subsequently, you will be responsible for owning the medical strategy for the accountable products and ensuring the delivery of timely, value-added and credible medical plans and insights across Medical Affairs, both at a global and affiliate level for the internal and external stakeholders. Above all, your experience working with global stakeholders and cross functional teams will help you to collaborate successfully in this role.

Qualifications
  • We expect you to be a Medical doctor with M.B.B.S and MD/ Ph.D and has the below qualifications,
  • Has minimum of 4-5 years of relevant work experience in the field of Medical Affairs.
  • People management experience of at least 2 years is preferable.
  • Additional education and experience in pharma business/marketing.
  • Willingness to coach colleagues and support team development.
  • Team-work skills, ability to get results through others and to work in a highly motivated team.
  • A strong communicator and strong problem solving skills
  • Extrovert, engaged, dynamic, results-driven.
  • Excellent networking abilities.
  • Experience and willingness to work in an international matrix organization.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with people with different backgrounds (science, business, etc.)
  • Strategic mindset.
  • Ability to manage complex tasks and organizational issues.
