- This role performs Tool & Die Design, feasilibility study and pursuit for EV Power Connections Products, including Busbars, Connector Terminals, Stamped Battery Terminals & Eyelets for Electric Vehicle Applications.
- Candidate shall work with Global & Local cross-functional teams which include engineering, plant manufacturing, and quality to manage the tool & die design work, right from the Customer Product drawing requirements to production with First-time pass & On time delivery.
- Must have hands-on experience with Sheet metal/Stamping industry.
- Must have handled end-to-end Tool & Die development right from Sheet metal process definition from customer requirement to production trials.
- Study of Customer component /System drawing, defining/selecting correct metal forming process.
- Experience in Tool feasibility check skills, exisitng tool modification based on new part and its approval process.
- Estimate the part cost based on strip utilization and perform VAVE activites.
- Awareness on available market products related to stamping and extract details required for the projects.
- Design Strip Layout, Stage wise operations, and identify required tools & process to develop the customer product in the production line.
Qualifications:
Requirement -
- Diploma / Degree in Tool & Die Making from NTTF/GTTC/CTTC or equivalent Premier Institute
- 3-6 years Industry experience in Sheet Metal Tool & Die design
Skills:
- Strong tool feasibility check skills, Interpersonal skills , Problem Solving, Drive for Result, Collaboration , Excellent English communication Skills
- Working exposure with global team will be added advantage
- 3D Modeling, Simulation & Drawing with NX Progressive Die Wizard is a must & experience in finalizing Drawing, BOM, and Releasing the drawing & model in Enovia /PLM
- Participate in Tool design reviews, present your tool design & seek suggestions from CFT. Provide recommendations/solutions to colleagues.
- Mechanical aptitude must be strong to assess the viability of complex part interrelations in a complete tool assembly model.
- Should have knowledge of Tool Material machining & solving machining challenges – Milling, Grinding, EDM, Heat treatment
- Engineering Calculation for Press tool -Punching & Piercing force, Press tonnage capacity for Al, Cu, Copper Clad & Brass material is must.
- Designing the Stage wise tool which includes Progressive, Stage, Draw Tools, Forming Tools, and Compound Tools.
- Blank design, Fixture Design, Gauge design, and Tool Material selection as per required tool life.
