Job Summary

The main function of the Associate Director – CII would be to lead the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning portfolio and people at Grameen Foundation. Additionally, s/he will be responsible for leading the consulting line of business for providing Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning services globally. Some of the other responsibilities for the Associate Director will include business development, portfolio management, providing technical oversight, data management & analytics, relationship management, mentoring subordinates, knowledge management and project documentation.

Essential Job Functions

  • Portfolio Management – Lead and anchor research projects under the portfolio; liaison with donors, clients, in-house team and research partners
  • Business Development and ensuring a healthy pipeline of National and International assignments with the CII
  • Technical Oversight for research and evaluation – Lead and anchor large scale evaluations
  • Relationship Management – Manage relationships and partnerships with stakeholders
  • Team and Performance Management – Managing team morale, competencies and performance, fostering a performanceoriented, compassionate and heartful culture
  • Manage large scale data analysis under different CII projects with team; conduct review and development of data analytical framework and conducting econometric analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in development and application of Results Management Framework, Theory of Change, Logic model and other appropriate M&E methodologies
  • Lead the study design and development of methods and tools for baseline, midline and endline surveys
  • Provide leadership and content to MEL work in in-house projects and new proposals
  • Develop frameworks, methodologies and tools for evaluation and knowledge management
  • Document reports, insights and manage communication with different stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Report Writing and development of knowledge products such as blogs, op-eds and articles

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude

  • Has a deep commitment to eradication of poverty and gender sensitivity in alignment with Grameen Foundation’s mission
  • Strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative research design and evaluation methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to build and work with a gender balanced team
  • Strong project management skills to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables
  • Experience of leading high value (> USD 500,000) research projects
  • Expertise of completing time bound consulting projects for reputed National and International Agencies
  • Client relationship management
  • Previous track record of successfully leading and overseeing multi member and diverse team of no less than five members
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and&excellent research and data collection methodology skills; ability to summarize disparate information in a clear and concise manner
  • Has reasonable knowledge about financial inclusion, agriculture, women’s economic empowerment domain and initiatives in the development sector
  • Skills/experience around developing research frameworks- especially M&E for different development contexts
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing and growing business environment.
  • Ability to apply knowledge in daily work. Has deep knowledge of Microsoft office products (excel, PowerPoint, word, etc.)
  • Knowledge of quantitative data analysis software such as STATA/R is required.
  • Knowledge of qualitative data analysis software such as ATLAS.ti/NVivo is preferred
  • Demonstrated (co)authorship of >30 research papers, evaluation reports, and op-ed publications

Education and Experience

  • A Masters degree in Economics/ Statistics/ Rural Development or Management/ Operations Research or equivalent
  • 12+ years of experience of which at least 8 years must have been in research role; >5 years in research management, and >5 years managing a 10+ member team
