Job Description
BIM/CAD Manager plays a crucial role in using BIM collaboration, coordination, and visualization technologies, driving and delivering CAD, BIM and Digital interventions across big, complex infrastructure projects. Follow company or client standards and make use of component libraries when implementing automation to assist in effective project delivery and quality. The comprehensive technical structural design and drawings for bridge restorations and new
construction will be a major focus of this role. Advanced technical work will be carried out using a wide range of resources, digital tools, and hardware while working under the limited general supervision of project leaders.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Information management systems are implemented utilizing Autodesk and Bentley BIM platforms.
- Pre-contract stage CAD/BIM execution plans, post-contract design plans, and construction as-built
- Creating workflows and standardized procedures to implement scalable solutions among a team of
- Placing a focus on data-driven design.
- Implemented common data environments with expertise: BIM 360/acc from Autodesk with
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, CADS RC, Navisworks, dynamo, and rush forth software
- Experience with preparing and guiding team on RC detailing as per BS 8666, ANZ and American codes.
- Utilizing escape or other technologies, producing visual rendering output
- Create and use revit models at all project stages, adhering to company or customer requirements and creating new templates as needed.
- Daily operation of the digital models
- Utilizing local and virtual servers to exchange project data with numerous consultants
- Creating 3d federated models for collision detection and reporting to show the progress of coordination and clash mitigation
- Understanding and proactively applying the necessary lod and cobie data at each stage of the project in accordance with the requirements relevant to that stage
- The creation of recurring training sessions for the design team and other stakeholders
- Establishing, enforcing, revising, and putting into practice bim execution standards and guides for all projects, with both internal and external management of design teams.
- Maintain close communication with the design team when reporting requirements and agreements
- Parametric modeling in revit for families
- Coordination of cadd projects and verification examinations
- Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent in the relevant field from any global organization (e.g., Institution of Civil Engineers, UK)
- Strong working relationships with current clients as well as potential new clients
- The ability to mentor team members in the delivery of engineering outcomes while taking the lead in the selection of appropriate techniques, procedures, and methods.
- Capable of organizing tasks, people, project programs, and fee proposals
- Capable of leading or supervising the development of analysis using Grillage, Space Frame, and/or Finite Element Analysis software such as SpaceGass, Midas, and others
- Demonstrates mature engineering judgment while contributing to the design and development of engineering solutions.
- Devoted to establishing and upholding high standards and a high standard of performance throughout delivery teams.
- A desire to take the helm in the creation of engineering technologies and methods for continual improvement.
