Position Title: Piping MaterialEngineer
Reports to: L1:Head of Department or Engineering Manager on the project.

1. JOB PURPOSE:
Performthe Piping Material related Engineering activities for Project/ Proposal

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:
Minimum qualifications required: BE / ME -Mechanical
Software Experience: Workingknowledge of any commercial Material Take Off and Material Management softwareis preferred.
Codes & Standards Knowledge:
ASME B31.3, AME B31.1, ASTM Material standards,IBR, NACE, API, ISO, MSS-SP
Minimum experience: 12+ years
Previous experience inOil & Gas/ Chemical industry experience is preferred.
Job-specific skillsrequired:

• Knowledge of design codes & standards applicablefor Piping Material Engineering.

• Preparation of specifications for piping material ofconstruction include pipe, valves, fittings, flanges, bolts/nuts, gaskets,branch conventions, fabrication criteria (PWHT), and installation criteria.

• Facilitate and orchestrate technical discussions withclient, engineering disciplines and vendors to provide solutions for variety oftechnical issues.

• FEED verification with respect to Piping MaterialSpecification, Valve Material Specification, Data sheets etc-

• Provide technical choices, propose value optimizationsto reduce cost and lead times as called by the project.

• Create and/or develop piping material specification,review client documents, specifications, requirements and its applicableinternational codes and standards.

• Calculate, verify pipe wall thickness, branchreinforcing pad requirements, and other mechanical calculations as required byrelated codes and standards.

• Create material requisitions and data sheets andensure its compliance with client's requirements, international standards.

• Create valve specification reports for bulk valves andestablish its applicable extent of inspection.

• Specification for NDE of piping system.

• Prepare Positive Material Identification (PMI)specification.

• Check, verify isometric drawings for bill of materialsintegrity and compliance to PMS/VMS.

• Manage and maintain piping MTOs for materialestimation and procurement.

• Provide material substitute confirmation for usingalternate available material.

• Perform Pipe Wall Thickness, Brach Reinforcement andLine Blank Thickness calculations as per ASME code.

• Prepare List of Piping Speciality Items with Processdata.

• Control the Piping items quantity, monitor the surplusand shortage of Piping Items.

• Develop Fabrication/Welding Specifications, Shop andField Testing Specifications, Piping Insulation, and Painting specifications.

• Preparation of specification for lined piping, claddedpiping.

• Develop Technical Supply Conditions / Requirements forVarious Piping Materials and to Make a technical recommendation.

• Prepare Requisitions for Piping Items, Valves andPiping Speciality Items.

• Vendors offer review, Technical Bid Evaluation, VendorDrawings & Document review of Piping Items, valves and Piping Specialityitems.

• Perform work in other sectors like Power Plant,Cryogenic Piping or LNG Piping will be an added advantage.
