Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of middleware developers working on ASIL-D compliant Linux based IVI System.
- Set technical standards, best practices, and coding guidelines for the team.
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, flexible with work timings, attend and contribute to technical discussions.
- Design, Develop/Upgrade software architecture in adherence with functional safety standard.
- Ensure that all middleware components adhere to ASIL-D requirements, including rigorous safety analyses, risk assessments, and compliance with ISO 26262 or relevant safety standards.
- Guide the team to implement, test and integrate requirements. Implement and oversee safety-critical testing to validate compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system architects, safety experts and QA, to ensure ASIL-D compliance and address safety-related issues specific to IVI systems.
- Review code, design, and other deliverables to ensure quality.
- Document design, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures specific to ASIL-D-compliant IVI middleware.
- Promote and enforce best practices for safety-critical software development and integration.
- Capture key work parameters (Productivity & Schedule) and prepare report after phase completion.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
- In-depth knowledge of middleware technologies and protocols commonly used in Linux-based IVI systems, such as D-Bus, socket programming, and data serialization, with a strong focus on functional safety and automotive communication protocols.
- Understanding of ASIL-D requirements for software development and how they apply to middleware components.
- Understanding of the specific middleware tools, platforms, and software used in Linux-based IVI systems, including open-source middleware solutions tailored for automotive applications
- Expertise in integrating middleware components with various IVI system elements on the Linux platform, such as user interfaces, multimedia applications, navigation systems, and vehicle control functions, while ensuring ASIL-D compliance.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and Shell scripting with a strong understanding of MISRA C coding standard.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact with internal & external stakeholders.
Desired Skills:
- Good at reading and understanding hardware reference manuals and board schematics.
- Experience with Linux working environment for ARM processor using GNU toolchain.
- Experience with debugging tools like JTAG, DSO, Multimeter, FG etc.
