The Sr. Engineer provides L2/L3 support (SysOps) to systems administration for system engineers and internal and external server environments including but not limited to planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all system hardware, software, virtualization. Strategy & Planning
- Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the management, department heads, and end-users regarding pertinent systems operations activities.
- Established and productive technical job delivering on operational targets within a discipline.
- Design and deploy new solutions and enhancements to existing on-prem and cloud systems.
- Conduct research on systems, network and communication infrastructure to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Execute tasks/assignments that are well-defined, and has some guidance on scope, methodology, expected timing and results.
Operational Management
- Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts.
- Test, maintain, and monitor systems, including coordinating the installation of applications and systems.
- Ensure system connectivity of all virtualization, servers, shared software, and other applications.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of entire company systems.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
- Assists with scheduled 24/7 on-call duties as requested.
- Should be a go-getter, understand the big picture and bring in out of box solutions in the Infrastructure & Operations space.
Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree (four-year), preferred: field of study - Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or related field
- 5-6 years of experience with systems administration, implementation of systems operations and general systems management.
- Experience troubleshooting & monitoring systems and networks.
- Experience in managing operating systems, including VMWare ESX and Windows Servers.
- 2+ years of experience in AWS administration and implementation, including networking, VPCs, Route 53, DirectConnect, S3 storage, and S2 instances.
- Experience in application delivery systems (RemoteApps, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop)
- Experience with systems planning, security principles, and general systems management.
- Experience in design, development, and implementation of systems operations and related products
- Strong experience in automation using Powershell, AWS Lambda or Python
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of cloud-based Microsoft technologies, including Azure Active Directory, Office 365 administration, Single Sign-On (SSO) integration, SharePoint/OneDrive, and best security practices.
- Working technical knowledge of current protocols and Internet standards, including: LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP.
- Experience in identify service providers like Okta, One Login, Auth0 etc.,
Certifications:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certification - must
- At least of the below:
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
- Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS).
