Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
Introduction:
The role is to perform activities related to the understanding the requirements, test planning, test execution, test automation covering various test phases of the technology delivery of new or existing, Barclays software applications and information systems as per the key accountabilities described below. The responsibility also involves designing and creating/enhancing automation framework, developing & maintaining automated regression pack, resolving all operation issue related to execution and maintenance and also perform manual functional testing wherever required.
What will you be doing?
o Analysis & Test Design:
 Actively engage with Business Analysts and IT partners in the requirements analysis for system enhancements and changes.
 Interpret and understand functional specifications
 Designing the Development and Testing Strategy, Test Plan and Test cases
 Experience of converting BA stories into test scenarios/cases
 Working independently on all phases of development and testing
 Actively manage the defect life cycle and well verse with JIRA
 Test Data creation
o Relevant experience in Microservice and API automation testing using gherkins(BDD), cucumber based framework
o Should have experience in story point estimation technique or business case estimation and agile way of working
o Well versed with setting-up Test Environment with required test data & appropriate level of access
o Strong in SQL/PL-SQL & Unix
o Automating the application deployments, functional test scripts and regression test scripts,
o Participating in daily scrum stand-up meetings, explaining progress and issues encountered.
o Applying various designs and documenting the automation test strategy
o Creating an automation test plan and getting approval
o Support regression development and testing, impact assessment which shall be on demand basis
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum qualification –Engineering Graduate or MCA (or equivalent degree)
- Must have experience of working in an IT project environment preferably in banking and financial sector
- Strong hands on experience in software testing with considerable experience in test management
- Proficient in creating automation framework using Java, Selenium, Cucumber & Gherkin.
- Good knowledge of SQL & Unix and Environments
- Exposure to DevOps, middleware automation
- Experience of using test management tools (e.g. Jira) to manage testing activity and to provide testing metrics
- Easily adaptable to changes – work demands / schedules / management
- Knowledge of Change, Incident and Problem Management process
